"I've already set up for Petunias stupid party" I replied, climbing the stairs.
"Uh, honey. We need to talk".
I stopped and faced my mum.
"Sure. What do you need to talk about?"
"I feel like you've been spending too much time with that neighbour, James"
"Yeah, he's my friend. So what?"
"I've noticed. And so has Petunia that you've. You've become distracted by him"
Distracted by him?
"How?"
"Well you've not handed in assignments-"
"Mum that was one time because I was forced to watch Petunias' school awards thing"
"You're not spending as much time with me or your sister-"
"Do you want me to be antisocially stuck in my room all day?"
"And you've become rude and disrespectful to Petunia-"
"She treats me like dirt!"
"And frankly I think he's a bad influence. You're not allowed to be friends with him anymore"

WHAT!
"What?" I whispered.
"You heard me. Now go to your room, Petunia's guests are arriving soon and she asked me to tell you not to bother them"
