"A real riot," I said dryly.
"Those are pointless and cruel, why bother starting one?" Violet barked
"Imagine all the fun that could be had," I laughed.
"Imagine all the fun? No, you mean imagine all the destruction you will cause because that's all it's going to lead to." Violet stumbled over her words in annoyance.
I sigh and sit on the couch while asking, "Have you ever been to a riot yet?"
"No, I don't want to be a part of that chaos, quite frankly I disagree with all of it and find it revolting." She exclaimed in aggravation
"What you say is chaos is heaven to me."
"Why, why do any of this? Give me a good reason as to why you think this is ok."
"The rush from the feeling of knowing one thing could go wrong is why I do it."
"Sid, you could hurt people... please don't do this, for me?"
"Look, it's something I do to feel free and alive. Why would you worry about my safety anyway."
"Because we grew up together, I've always cared and I always will care. I don't want you or anyone else to get hurt!"
"You're coming with me so you can see what riots are really like," I say as I grab her arm and walk her to my car.
"Why? They are dangerous and vile! Why can't you just stay here with me and we can find a peaceful way to solve it?"
"PEACEFUL!? Hah no. You are coming with me to see this, now get in," I bark as I start the car.
"Fine but you don't need to be so forceful and on one condition."
"UHG what condition, it better not ruin everything"
"You will only take me there to show me, not to join in, not to make me be a part of anything. I don't want to be destructive, I don't want to hurt anyone or you so just show me."
"Fine, but we are staying for the entire time."
"Fine, where is it? Also, can we get ice cream after?"
"How about ice cream first then to the riot?"
"Fine, they better have my favorite flavor."
"Alright then let's go to the ice cream store." I laughed as we drove off to the ice cream parlor.
We drove off to the ice cream store, Violet sat quietly in the passenger seat. "I never understood why she was so adamant about peace, or let alone that she cares for me. I think she only sees me as like a brother though. I want to tell her but I don't want to ruin what we have now." I thought. Once we were halfway to the ice cream shop Violet broke the silence by turning on the radio and gently singing along to the radio. She kept her focus on the road and then softly spoke to me.
"Do you remember when we would go to the ice cream shop as kids and when we'd always go to the park after? I miss that, I miss things just being peaceful and fun like they used to be. Everyone now is just hateful and cruel." Violet said.
"Yeah I do but that's when we didn't see the evil in the world. Why do you think I started riots?" I asked, scoffing.
"Honestly, I thought you started them because you didn't feel loved, so that way you could feel something else. But you are loved. Hey Sid, can I tell you something?"
"No, I know I'm loved. Let's go get some ice cream." I say while smiling.
"Oh okay, yay let's get some ice cream." Violet sadly said but with a shy smile.
