Why can't anyone see?

Before I even realized it, the argument was over and the guy walked past me and gave me a dirty look while mumbling some sort of insult.

Sighing, I looked down at my hands that I held on my lap underneath the desk.

As I bit my lip, I began to use my nails to gently poke at my fingers and hands. It's been a bit of a coping mechanism for me for awhile now.

Although, the gentle poking gradually got more and more harsh until it finally began to draw blood. "O-ow..!" I whispered as my hand instinctively shot into the air.

Quickly, I reached into my book bag and pulled out a band-aid, which I regularly carried around, and wrapped it around the mark on my index finger.

RIIIING!!!!

The bell? Already?! It feels like class just started...

"Crap...!" With all the time that I spent during class sulking over what Ms. Kayama said, I got none of my notes done.

"What's wrong?" Bakugo turned around in his seat to look at me.

"O-oh,, I was dosing off and accidentally got none of my notes filled in.." The blonde chuckled, "Wow Deku, first coming in late for class and now this?" "Sorry.." "Don't apologise to me. It's your own damn fault." I sighed, he was right afterall.

"Although, I can copy my notes onto your paper for you." Relieved, I smiled, "Really?!" "On one condition. Can you go get me and the group a bag of chips during lunch?" "O-oh uhh I spent all my-" Before I could finish, Bakugo handed a $10 bill over to me, which I took.

"Ok, deal."

Soon enough lunch rolled around and I left the classroom and towards the elevator to go downstairs, where the snack machine was.

Once I got there I bought everyone a bag of chips and held them in my lap as I started going back. While passing by the gym I stopped. The sounds of screeching sneakers filled my ears.

I should be getting all these chips to Bakugo..

I guess a quick peek won't hurt.

I went over to the doorway of the gym to see the same guy from earlier. The one with strange hair.

He was running around the gym, shooting baskets from different places at different angles.

"O-oh I didn't even notice you.." he panted once he finally noticed my presence in the doorway.

How long has it been since I even got here?

"Oh, hi.." He set the basketball under his arm and walked over to me.

"You're... Midoriya right?" I nodded quickly, "Yeah it is... You never told me your name!" Awkwardly he rubbed the back of his neck, "Oh yeah, sorry about that. I was kinda in a rush to get to class. My name's Shoto Todoroki." "Oh, hi Todoroki!" He waved hi real quick, before handing out the basketball to me.

"Wanna play? You were staring at it."

I was? Crap I didn't even notice...!

"Uhm,, I-I c-can't.."

"Why not?"

"What.."... My reply was more of a whisper. Is this guy blind? Can he not see my current state...?

"I said, why not? There's no reason you shouldn't be able to." "I can't w-" before I could finish my sentence he shoved the ball at my chest, which I caught swiftly.

"Try it out." Sighing, I excepted defeat and rolled further into the gym.

First I set down all the chips on the bleachers and then firmly held the ball in my hand. The net was pretty high up, even higher for me.

I positioned my hands before throwing the ball up towards the net that it bounced off of.

Todoroki stood in the background and watched as I rolled over to where the ball went and picked it up to try again. This time I almost made it, but of course still missed.

"Alright here you go, I'm too tired for this." I chuckled as I went back over to him and handed him the ball.

"Good try. With some more practice you could do better." He smiled lightly.

A sudden burst of happiness shot through my veins as I sent a smile in his direction, "M-maybe..!" My smile faded as I looked down and remembered my circumstances.

"Actually I-" "Todoroki..!! There you are!" I turned my head to see that same girl that I met on the first day.

Momo Yaoyorozu.

I hadn't yet realized it, but the whole time we were speaking I never looked away from Todoroki's eyes. But as soon as she entered the room they shone brighter than before.

This time her hair was up in a high ponytail. She wore ripped skinny jeans with black heels, a black crop top with a grey sweater overtop, big loop earrings, and she also had pink lipstick on.

"Oh hi Momo." He said with the same monotone voice and expression that he gave me.

"Oh hi Midoriya, I didn't see you there!" She waved happily with a smile. "H-hi Momo.." I responded awkwardly looking at the ground.

"Jeez Todoroki! What's wrong with your brain?! Do you not remember the meeting we were supposed to go to for lunch today?!" A small noise of surprise and realization escaped the boy's lips as he jumped slightly.

"Oh I completely forgot about that...! Hey uh Midoriya I gotta get-" "Going?" I finished the sentence for him, my voice unintentionally sounding rude.

"Y-yeah.." he mumbled, "Bye." "You take too long, come on!" The black haired girl shouted before grabbing his wrist and dragging him out of the room, his basketball falling our of his hands and bouncing towards my feet in the process.
