We fade like flowers
We burn like gasoline
We're locked in our towers
We're hiding behind a smokescreen
Our days are unending
And the nights are long
Kept awake by choices pending
We're told we aren't strong
We long for the silence
And yet we fear it
We wish for some guidance
And yet we can't commit
Happiness is fleeting
Pain is consuming
Emotions are depleting
These thoughts are booming
Where is the peace
Where is the consolation
When will it cease
Will it lead to damnation
Are we truly alive
Have we lost our way
Do we exist to survive
Who will fix the fray
God we need you
We've lost our sight
We don't know what to do
Help us become alright
Show us love
Show us grace
Help us to get out of
This toxic place
Help the hurt
Help us heal
Let us depart
Forgive us this ordeal
