Escaping the crystal cave and the Jedi Temple was easy enough for Cal and Kairi after when they discovered that the Empire was mining for kyber crystals which he was sacred to all Jedi. Ilum used to belong to the Jedi and it happens to be a place where all of the younglings were creating their very own lightsabers after finding a crystal which would be all calling out to them. 

But there were hidden secrets that both Cal and Kairi had which came into the light in front of them while seeking Cal's crystal. For now, it will have to wait until they reach the safety of the Mantis which Cere managed to hide its signal for a while. 

After making it outside, Kairi quickly covered her eyes with her father's ski goggles, thinking that the snowstorm was coming back, but to her surprise, the sun was out.

"Looks like the storm went away." Cal responded before Kairi put her ski goggles back on top of her head.

BD-1 started beeping in response to Cal's statement.

"It's too quiet, Cal. We should be hearing more Stormtroopers by now." Kairi responded as she had her lightsaber in her right hand. "I got a bad feeling something is waiting for us." She stated, before she and Cal ran through the snow.

When they saw the Mantis, Kairi's eyes widened in shock as she felt like a strong presence taking over her body once more like it did back on Dathomir when Merrin was raising more of her undead sisters.

In a blink of an eye, Kairi felt her own body being pushed down quickly, before Cal stopped in his tracks to check on the younger Padawan, thinking that she tripped over a rock in the snow. Seeing Cal running back towards her, Kairi screamed out in shock as the ginger haired Jedi got shot in the shoulder by a blaster laser, causing him to fall down into the snow with BD-1 beeping out a question to check on him.

Kairi turned her head to see that there were two AT-ST's heading towards them, as the 16 year old Padawan immediately picked up her lightsaber and ran towards Cal, while helping him up by having his shoulder over her back, leading them into a safe distance behind an ice structure.

"Cal, are you okay?" Kairi asked after putting him down into the snow, before the older Padawan started touching his left shoulder with his right hand which he closed his eyes, groaning at the pain he's felt.

"I'm alright. Don't worry about me. Just get back to the Mantis… I'll take care of this." Cal responded as he started to get back up, but Kairi stopped him.

"I have a plan. But I want you to stay here. It's my job to protect you, Cal." Kairi replied, before she lifted BD-1 onto her as the bi pedal droid onto her back. "Sit tight." She stated, before she ran off to reveal herself to the two AT-ST's.

"Kairi, what are you doing? Where's Cal?" Cere asked on Kairi's communicator while the 16 year old was waving her hands to them to get their attention.

"Wounded. But in hiding. Just stay where you are." Kairi answered back as she started running away, before deflecting the lasers by using her lightsaber. "I have a plan. I'm leading them towards the Jedi Temple." She stated after hiding behind an ice structure until she started looking around.

'Maybe I can use the Force to bring the ice down so it can land on one of them?' Kairi thought to herself before she started balling up her fists. 'Help me, Mother...' She thought once more as her forehead symbol glowed a violet purple color, showing her strength, before Kairi revealed herself in front of one of the AT-ST.
