Assalam o Alikum brothers and sisters!

My today's update is regarding 12 Rabi' al-Awal, which is commonly known as Eid Milad un Nabi or in simple words , Birthday of The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
    Rabi' al-awwal.

Rabi' al-awwal is the 3rd month of Islamic calendar. Many Muslims celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi in this month.

     Eid Milad un Nabi Celebrations.

Although historians and scholars disagree on the exact date of Muhammad's birth, it is commonly celebrated on 12th or 17th of Rabi' al-awwal. The celebration of the Mawlid is done differently depending on the country. In some areas celebrations begin as early as the first of the month and can continue till the end of the month. Muslims generally put coloured lights on roads, streets, and their homes and put green flags as well to celebrate. In many countries a procession is also conducted on 12th or 17th of Rabi' al-awwal night and day. On these occasions sweets and drinks are also distributed widely from home to home and to the general public. In some areas Muslims also exchange gifts. It is the month of blessings.Massive cakes are also cut on this event.

     The Reality.

While many Muslims celebrate this event, there are some Muslims who consider this event as Bid'ah.

     What is Bida'h?
Bid'ah means innovations in Islam. “According to sharee’ah, the definition is ‘Doing actions in matters of deen that Allaah has not prescribed

So,like I have said, Eil Milad un Nabi is considered as Bid'ah. Your question must be "HOW"? Well, that is something I'll try to explain here.

How is Eid Milad un Nabi Bid'ah?

I have a question......

•HAVE WE EVER HEARD OR READ THAT THE HOLY PROPHET (PBUH) celebrated his (PBUH) birthday?

•HAVE WE EVER HEARD OR READ THAT THE COMPANIONS OF THE HOLY PROPHET  (PBUH) CELEBRATED THIS EVENT?

•OR DID THE FOUR GREAT CALIPHS CELEBRATE THIS EVENT?

No, no ,and no.I haven't heard or read, well I don't know about you guys.

So, when these people, when Prophet Muhammad  (PBUH) himself didn't celebrate it ,then how can we?

It hurts when I say this, when I saw this that cakes were cut on this event.
What do christians do on birthdays?

CUT CAKES!

What do Muslims do?

I don't want to share it but something like this also happened that people were dancing on this event.

Reference from Hadith:

“Wa sharrul Umoori Muhdathaatuhaa, Wa kulla Bid'atin dhaialah, wa kulla dhalatin fin-naar" Al-Hadith (Sahih Muslim).

Translation of the above Hadith:
“Every innovation is a misguidance and every misguidance goes to Hell fire.”

     More Justifications.

The commands mentioned in the Qur’aan and Sunnah to follow the laws of Allaah and His Messenger, and the prohibitions on introducing innovations into the religion are quite clear. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning)

●“And verily, this is My straight path, so follow it, and follow not (other) paths, for they will separate you away from His path”
