Part Twenty Four-The Fight

Midoriya has a conflicted look on his face

"Since you're not denying it, it must be true. Damn it..." Bakugo says

"What are you going to do with your answer?" Midoriya asks

"You and I both wanted to be like All Might. Right...that's how it was... Someone who I always thought was just a pebble was acknowledged by the person I admired without me realizing it...That's why...let's fight. Right here, right now" Bakugo says

I had a feeling something like this would happen...

"What?! Why does it have to end up like this?!" Midoriya exclaims

"If we fight seriously, we'll be stopped. What part of you made All Might do what he did? Let me see for myself. If the way you admired him was correct, then does that mean my admiration was wrong?" Bakugo says

"A-Are you really planning on fighting?" Midoriya asks

"If you don't wanna get hurt, get ready" Bakugo says while stretchin,"oh yeah, you switched to mainly using kicks, right?" Bakugo says

"W-Wait! We can't do this!" Midoriya exclaims

Bakugo then launches himself at Midoriya. I watch as two of them start to duke it out. Glass starts to break and some buildings start to fall apart.

"This is not a safe place to be right now!" I think

I then see Bakugo fall over

"Why...Why did I end up chasing after someone who was always behind me?! Why did a small fry like you get so strong...and become acknowledged by All Might? Why is it that you became so strong...but I...why was i the one who ended All Might?!" Bakugo yells

I get surprised by that statement

"But I was also there...and I don't think that I was the cause of All Might's retirement?" I think to myself

"If I had been stronger and not kidnapped by villains, then that wouldn't have happened...All Might tried to keep it a secret... I couldn't tell anyone! Even if I try not to think about it...it just keeps popping up! I don't know what to do!" Bakugo yells while starting to cry

"B-But Kacchan...you weren't the only one there...Takashi also got kidnapped, so there is no reason to blame yourself" Midoriya tires to reason

"You weren't there! You didn't see how well Takashi handled the situation...if I wasn't there I know for a fact that All Might wouldn't have had to retire. I couldn't even use my quirk for basically the entire time while Takashi was able to trick the villains and make two of his damn suits for us to use! That's not even mentioning the fact that he was tortured the whole time we were there!" Bakugo yells

Midoriya pauses for a moment, I then see him activate his quirk. They then go charging at each other.

"I'm not planning on being a sandbag, Kacchan!" Midoriya exclaims

They then continue their fight.

"Holy hell...these two are nuts" I think to myself

I watch as the two of them battle it out, holding nothing back. As I'm watching the two of them, I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder and see All Might standing behind me.

"Young Takashi, you should probably leave. I wouldn't want you to get in trouble as well" he says to me

I glance at him then back at the other two.

"These idiots, they're both strong in their own right" I say

"I think I'll watch a bit longer, just for data purposes of course" I say

He looks at me for a moment.

"I do suppose you being here could be a good thing" he says

The fight goes on and eventually, Bakugo is able to come out on top. That's when All Might finally steps forward and I follow a bit behind him.

"Stop there, you two. Sorry, but I overheard" he says

Both Bakugo and Midoriya are shocked to see us and for once, I'm just silent.

"I'm sorry I didn't notice..." he says

"It doesn't matter now...Why Deku? It started when the sludge villain came, right? Why this guy?" Bakugo asks

"He was powerless, but more heroic than anyone else. I thought you were strong. You were someone who could already compete. I decided that he should also be able to stand in the ring" All Might says

"I'm weak, too, you know...! I always wanted to be strong, like you! It's because I'm weak...that I made you turn into that...!" Bakugo says, holding back tears

I clench my fist as he refers to All Might's final.

"You idiot, it wasn't just your fault. I was there two and could only do something because of how dumb the league was" I say

"At least you could do something! I just had to sit there and hope you could succeed!" He shouts

"You think I wasn't scared either?! I was terrified the whole time!" I shout back

"You two...neither one of you are at fault here. My limit was already close. I was always gonna end up like this" All Might says

Bakugo and I don't respond as we just look away.

"I'm sorry, even though you're still young, too...After being a hero for a long time, I've seen the drive and strength you all hold. With this, I think that you will be able to finally see eye to eye and grow from each other's strengths and weaknesses" All Might says

There's a few seconds of silence.

"That's...not what I wanted to hear" Bakugo says as he sits down

"Bakugo...it's not like you're the only one jealous of Midoriya. So stop being a big baby" I say

Bakugo doesn't respond as he sits there for a few seconds.

"Deku...you had the strongest guy lay out the groundwork for you. Don't lose" he says

"I'll get stronger, so that I can beat you" Midoriya says

Bakugo let's out a sigh.

"Who knows about you and Deku?" He asks All Might

"Recovery Girl and the Principal. Out of the students it's just you and Young Takashi here" he says

"It was relatively easy to figure out" I think

"You don't want this to get out, do you? Since it sounds like you were trying to hide it, I won't tell anyone. I won't expose your secret like damn Deku here" Bakugo asks

"I should be bowing and begging you to keep this secret. Just how much will I need you to be considerate for my sake?" All Might asks

"I'm not being considerate. It's just too big a risk with too many drawbacks to spread this around" Bakugo says as he stands back up

All Might then tells Bakugo all about All For One and it's history. And after that, the three of us follow All Might back to the dorms and I split off from them to head back to my own room.

"I wonder if I'll be able to stay on their level forever...?" I ask myself...
