She would be like a little kitten in the jungle.
And that thought brought some peace to Ellen's mind. She won't be saying goodbye to her baby girl anytime soon, and she's more than fine with that. But with Aiden on the other hand, now that is what almost brought her close to tears.
"Ellen!" Carol exclaims, loudly clapping her hands in front of Ellen's face. "Snap out of it."
Ellen shakes her head and then her gaze focuses on her wife and kids. She turns back around towards the counter and finishes pouring the juice in Alaska's red mug and Aiden's blue one.
"Thank you," Alaska murmurs.
"Thanks, Ma," Aiden mumbles through his pop-tart-stuffed-mouth as Ellen places their mug in front of them.
"Anytime, hun, anytime."
"Don't want none, unless you got buns, hun," Carol sing to herself as she continues to flip the pancakes.
Ellen laughs quietly to herself as she watches her wife swaying her hips and singing Anaconda under her breath.
"Did you guys do the thing last night or something?" Alaska whispers, leaning over closer to Ellen.
Ellen was in the middle of drinking her beloved Orange Juice right when Alaska decided to ask such question. Which of course resulted in her choking.
Alaska just merely stares at her, not even asking if she's okay, since as she recalls, she didn't seem to care that she was choking to death just last week.
"Why are you asking that?"
"'Cause, she's more cheery than usual," Alaska murmurs, her gaze fixated on her mother that was placing the already cooked blueberry pancakes on the plates.
Ellen rolls her eyes and continues to drink her juice. "Carol, baby, Alaska is wondering why you're in such a good mood today. Did we have sex last night and I just didn't realize it, again?"
Carol laughs, placing one plate in front of Aiden and the other in front of Alaska. "Jesus, can't a woman ever be happy without being questioned as to why she's in a really good mood?"
"Preach, mother, preach!" Aiden exclaims, putting his hands up in a praising Jesus kind of way.
Ellen cuts out a piece of her pancake with a fork and shoves the forkful in her mouth. "So, we didn't have sex last night, right?"
Alaska groans and Aiden gags while Carol rolls her eyes. "Shut up and eat, hun."

Alaska gets off the school bus and inwardly groans, Aiden following behind her. They have to take the school bus because 1) their mothers don't trust either of them with a car, and 2), the most important and embarrassing one, neither one of them have their license. Which actually was more embarrassing for Aiden because he's a dude and he has absolutely no way of impressing chicks. Those were his words.
The reason for them not having their license was simple; they just can't pass the damn thing.
She has already failed it three times, while Aiden has failed it four times, and if on March (that's when their next appointment is) she fails it once again, she swears that that was God's way of saying, "Girl, you are not about to drive. You'll die!" and so she's just going to give up on trying to get her license. Where as to Aiden claims that he will never give up and he will soon have chicks swooning not only over him, but over his car as well.
When they were at the bus stop that was a block away from their house this morning, they stood a bit far away from the rest of the students. Some noticed that they've never seen the siblings before, which could only mean one thing: they were new. So therefore, some tried to talk to her and Aiden and befriend them, but of course Alaska being Alaska, she just stared them down with a bore expression, which then led the other student to get uncomfortable and just end up walking back to their friends and start to gossip about how big of a bitch Alaska was being. On the other hand, Aiden's flirting game was intact as several girl stood by him, giggling at his lame jokes and complimenting him on his "sexy as hell" hair.
