Hand in hand they walked into the school.
He being ten and she being nine,they were the best friends in the world.
They both looked like weirdo kids.
Freckles covered their cheeks and nose.Their braces turned every word they spoke into a sputter.They couldn't say a word without spitting all over the place.Round glasses framed their faces making it hard for people to notice she had grey eyes while he had green eyes.
He always forgets that he has laces and that they are supposed to be tied and she always forgets she has to arrange her socks because one of her sock is always up to her knee while the other sock was down to the ankle.
She had the habit of always tugging at her right upper ear while he had the habit of tugging slightly at his lower lip.
They smiled at each other.
The other kids looked at them like they were aliens but they didn't care because they had each other.
After school.
"Hey Alyssa,you want to play ball with me?"
"No Andy,let's play doll house."
"But Aaaaal...." he whined.
"Pleeeeeease.....An" she said giving him the puppy dog eyes.
"Okay" he said rolling his eyes.
Then he took her hand and they both went into the house to play.
It surprised everyone to see how close they both were.He was always the last thing she asked for before going to bed and she was always the first thing he asked for when he woke up in the morning.
Their parents were getting worried about how close they were so they decided on something that was going to be heart shattering for the two kids.
"Al,An,you both should come here now."
The two children came in hand in hand obviously and Al's mother frowned at this.
"Yes mommy." Said Al grinning at her mother.
"Umm,An and his family are going to be moving out.
" Moving...out?? "She said tilting her head to the side and tugging at her ear.
" Umm,they are going away.They will no longer be our neighbours. "
"Whaaat? Nooo. I'm not going anywhere." An said squeezing Al' s hand.
"Mommy,An is not going anywhere."
" Honey he is moving out.You can't do anything about it. "
"No no no,I'm not.I'm not leaving Al."
It was then An' s mother who spoke up now.
"Stop this right now.We're leaving and that's that."
"No mommy.Please."
"We have to honey.I'm sorry."
That night Alyssa and Andy slept in their tree house.
"Al,promise me that you will not forget me when I'm gone."
" I won't forget you but I'll miss you An "
"When I come back,and we grow up and be like Mommy and Daddy, we will get married right.You will be mine."
" I will be yours. "She said falling asleep with her hand in his.
Day of departure
" Al,don't forget me okay. "An was in the car already.
" Alyssa,don't run after the car.You will fall. "Her mother kept telling her but she didn't care.
"Look"she said bringing her hand up to his.
She was wearing the bracelet they had made together.
He smiled before bringing his hand up too.He was wearing the same.
"Don't forget.You will be mine." An said
"I am already yours." she said.
Then she could no longer run after the car as it sped up.
"Aaaaaaaan,Aaaaaaandddyyyyyyyyyyyy"she screamed at the top of her lungs.
