TimeKeeper: The dark side of the moon

Chapter 1

Memories flood my mind, of my past, of my earthly home, a distant world between space and time or should I say between reality and a dream. Lost in thought, gazing out into outer space from the moon pods lunar window, my eyes scan the moon's mystical horizon above the Lunar mountain range. Knocking at the door! "Gemini, I have your breakfast and coffee prepared. Would you like to eat in the Cyber cafe or prefer to eat in your room?" asked Morpheus. "I'd like to eat in my room this morning thank you Morpheus.", I replied. "I shall return with your breakfast shortly.", Morpheus said. We are living here on Mon Piton mountain on the dark side of the moon. I haven't decided if I will live here permanently, so much depends on the past or should I say the future. The moonpod (living area) is adjoined to the sub- space station called The Guardian. In time more renovations will be added onto The Guardian, including a moon base and moon pods built close to The Sea of Tranquility. As of now it consists of the moon pod, Cyber cafe, the science laboratory and the galley. A brilliant science professor named Josiah Hawk is one of the lead researchers here. Josiah invented a revolutionary time machine called the Timekeeper and he happens to be my twin brother. Josiah invented the Timekeeper for important projects, one unknownst to him would be the preservation of America's future.What Josiah didn't know was that his invention would save his own life one day. Josiah's wife Skyler is also a scientist here, my brother met her while they both were attending Yale. Skyler has contributed so much insight to this project. Skyler has stood by my brother through thick and thin, she truly cares about him. I may be the older sister by 17 minutes, but I admire and respect Josiah more than anyone I've ever known. Josiah's kindness and compassion for mankind and all living creatures is as infinite as the heavens that I see before me. Knocking at the door! "I have your breakfast Gemini!", Morpheus said. "Come in, you can set the tray there on the table, thank you Morpheus.", I said. Josiah created Morpheus,which is a highly functional android. Morpheus is more like a human than ever expected, he is like family to me especially since Josiah and I were orphans. Our parents divorced when we were two years old. My mother left my father and took my brother away. I unfortunately had to stay behind with my father. My father was a cold hearted, mean man, who had no love in his heart for me or for Josiah. I can still hear his harsh remarks echoing in my head. My brother had a similar fate living with our mother, she remarried to a wealthy businessman and they expected Josiah to be perfect physically and academically. Though,Josiah was born with a brilliant mind, he was unfortunately born with some outward deformities. He was made to get many corrective surgeries some were unnecessary though. It was very hard for Josiah to get over his memories of that time in his life,he often had recurring nightmares. My father grew weary of his responsibility to raise me so he sent me to live with an Auntie that was no better than himself. I was subjected to many sorrows while living under her roof but a twist of fate occured, my Auntie decided to put me in an orphanage, and my father didn't dispute the decision. After three long years of being in the confounds of hell, as I refer to the orphanage, a kind and loving couple adopted me. My new adopted father was a federal agent that worked at Area 51, yes that unknown secluded military base hidden among cactuses and Joshua trees in the desert. My adopted mother owned a small bookstore and a flower shop combined we lived on the top floor of the bookstore. It was a two story French style building lined with roses and honeysuckle. I have so much gratitude for my adoptive parents, they instilled in me wisdom that guided my life down the right path without them I would have never survived, their love saved me. I am a time traveller, for now that is until my mission is completed. Mostly I'm just a poet at heart. " Morpheus please ask Mirabella Moon and Amora Dawn to come to my room once they've had breakfast.", I asked. "Yes, I'm on my way now.", replied Morpheus. I have to pinch myself sometimes to see if I'm awake or am I dreaming it's still hard to believe that I'm here on the moon right now, looking out at the heavens, me a time traveller. For space food these muffins and coffee are out of this world, ha! ha! 🤣😝There are two chefs here, Chef Pepe' and Chef Giorgio. Their cooking styles are different but both equally as good. Amora knocked once on the door and walked in my room. "Hey mom!", she said. Mirabella followed right behind her with her dog Plato, wagging his tail. "Hey boy! Hey Plato! How are you cutie?", I asked Plato. "Where is Castor and Pollux?", I asked Amora. "Oh,they're over at the Cyber cafe, Chef Pepe' is giving them a bowl of dried tuna and warm creme de le creme.'', replied Amora. "I bet they are loving that! ", I said. "Girls, I'm going to take a moonwalk soon, do you want to join me?", I asked. "Yes.", replied Amora and Mirabella. "I will make my way down to the Cyber cafe to get Castor and Pollux suited up for the moonwalk, I know they wouldn't want to miss it.", I said. "If you will get Plato's space suit on him I will meet you all at gate 7 in an hour.", I said. Castor and Pollux are white ragdoll cats.They have beautiful light blue eyes and they were born here on The Guardian. Castor and Pollux's parents roam The Guardian as they please.Castor and Pollux spend most of their time hanging out at the Cyber cafe getting tasty treats from the Chefs. Gate 7 lifted up slowly as we all stepped out of The Guardian onto the surface of the moon. We were set and ready for our moonwalk with the latest and most advanced space suits on. We all began walking,we hadn't gotten very far when we all stopped and admired the most mesmerizing sight to ever be seen,it was truly magical looking out into the unknown infinite universe. To think that space never ends it just keeps going and going. Shooting stars and comets were soaring in the blackness of space. It was as if we could reach out and touch the stars. The beautiful red atmosphere of Mars was quite different from this point of view,the whole experience of seeing outer space and the milky way is completely opposite than from the view on Earth. We were following in the footsteps of the brave astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, the first men to land on the moon. Because of the advancement of technology,it has made our moonwalk possible today. The Earth appeared as a blue marble in the darkness of our vast universe.All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream by ( Edgar Allan Poe). Those words come to my mind as I gaze out into the unknown.We proceeded towards The Sea of Tranquility. Plato, Castor and Pollux seemed to be as mesmerized as we were by the surrounding beauty. We all needed to get out of the space station for a spell, it can become quite cramped after a while.There are obviously experiences that you can have here that you can't on Earth,but there are also things you experience on Earth that you can't in any other place in the universe. There are good things and bad things about both worlds. The Sea of Tranquility is a vast deep crater once believed to have water. It looks like a grey, bluish desert that spans as far as the eye can see.As we approached The Sea of Tranquility I noticed a basketball size glowing object.I walked closer and noticed a foggy green light surrounding a rock type formation. I was quite hesitant to touch it or pick it up, not knowing what it was. I needed to get Josiah and Morpheus here to examine it and decide if this object should be moved and studied in the laboratory.Then suddenly we heard a howling and shrieking noise which pierced our ears. The eerie sound sent a chill down my spine.Mirabella noticed what she thought was a dust cloud hovering over The Sea of Tranquility as I focused my eyes, I realized what lie before us, I cautioned Amora and Mirabella to walk backwards slowly. "That is not a dust cloud.", I told her. "That shrieking noise is not a comet, that is a moon banshee."
