CHANCES (L.T.)

~~~THIRTY SEVEN~~~

"Where are you going?" I asks.

"I just have to meet some people" He  says with a little shrug.

"But-"

"Dont worry I will be back before dinner" he say cutting me off.

I again opens my mouth but before that he leaves.

I just sigh running my hands through my hair messing it more than it already is. 

I look up to see my mother's concerned eyes on me. I dont really want her to freak out  so I flash a fake smile acting like nothing is wrong. 

"Dont worry he will be back" I say

She reads my carefully but just nods. I look at the clock it was only 11 great I have more than enough time to freak out as to where he has gone. 

Austin's pov. 

I catch a bus and after a 20 minute ride I get down at the station which is near Laura's place. Once I get out I make my way to her house. I soon find myself at her front gates. I slowly open them. The walk to the front door was painfully long. I look at the door bell for a good 3 minutes before I ring it. 

I hear from behind the door Ash saying I will get it! and Laura telling her not to open it but it was to late she opened it. 

She looked at her she did not say a word for a moment before she jumped on me. Thankfully I had a lot of practice of the girls doing this so I caught. 

"I missed you" She mumbles 

"I missed you to and I am sorry" I tell her and at that moment I feel another four year old body hug my legs. 

I bend down to Kate  "Why did you leave?" she asks.

The guilt could not get worse "I am sorry" I whisper to her. 

My attention was caught when a familiar voice said "Austin?" I looked up and saw Laura there. 

I slowly got up from my position. 

"Yes mommy Austin came back!" Kate  yelled. I immediately felt bad again I was going to leave a again and they did not know. 

"Actually I just came for a visit I have to leave again" I say mainly to the girls.

"You leave already?" Ash asks.

"Um.. No I can stay for a while" I say now looking at Laura who hadn't showed any expression at all but now she broke into a smile. I could feel a huge wait lift of me. 

"Austin come and see we learnt to play the piano!" Kate says grabbing my hand. 

"Yeah yeah!! we learnt" Ash says clapping her hand. 

"Uh... maybe I could speak with your mom and then you can show me?" I ask.

"No it is okay you can play with them we can talk later" She says with a smile. 

I smile and get dragged to their room. 

The girls showed me how the both of them knew how to play Mary had a little lamb only the right hand. After they made me play with a new doll house they got and all sorts of other things we did before they ended up tiering themselves out and going for their afternoon nap. 

I went down and found laura on the couch reading. She looks up at me she pats the space next her. 

I go over and sit there. 

"I am sorry" I breath out.

She wraps her arms around me and says "Dont need to apologize Austin I understand "

"But it was not right of me to call or anything after everything you have done for me" I sigh out. 

"I already said it was okay alright?" she says sternly. When she uses that tone you know you just have to drop the subject now. 

"Anyway how is London?" She asks. 

I huff there is a lot of things that has happened there but to cut it short I say  "It is okay I guess" 

"So.. what are you doing back here?" she asks.

"We came here to visit Louis's parents and sisters " I say. 

"Oh right I forgot about that how are things between the two of you?" She asks. She knows pretty well that I hate him and never wanted anything to do with him but here I am now I live with him. Life it just messed up. 

"I don't know" I say softly. He is nothing like what I imagined him to be like. He was actually nice to me. But maybe it is an act and in the end he will leave just like he did to mom. That is a part of the reason I don't want to really talk or anything. 

Laura understood that I did not want to talk about this so she dropped it instead we talked about other stuff. Soon it was time for me to leave I had an hour to dinner and I said that I would be back before dinner. 

I hug the girls and Laura good bye. After that I was on a bus back to Louis's place.
