Unsent Letters - Chapter 11 (JenLisa FF Story)

***JENNIE Year 2013***

It was already nine when Lisa and I got separated. Even though we both didn't want to say our goodnights to each other yet, I forced her to do so. It's a long drive, so I chose for her to leave and be safe, rather than sticking to my desire to spend more time with her.

There's always a better time for everything. That's what I kept on telling myself while driving in the opposite direction.

I threw my backpack at the side of my bin bag and flopped my body on my bed.

Ah! I'm so tired. This whole thing kind of exhausts me, for real. But maybe a hot shower and an eight-hour sleep will help me regain my strength. Good thing it's Friday tonight, at least I'm free to spend long hours on my bed tomorrow.

Well, thinking about rest, I don't have any plans this weekend, so maybe it's okay to waste my time with whatever my body will pull me tomorrow. Maybe stick with lying on my bed, or play games, or watch something. Whichever my ending mood will be fine, I won't complain.

Shit! I could feel it now. I'm dozing off, and my eyes are having its own life. It keeps on closing even though I'm trying my best to resist it. I need to stay awake until Lisa comes home. So I pulled myself up. I'll take my shower now, or this dreamland will envelop me until I lose it all.

But before I could even pull myself up, I felt my phone vibrate at my side pocket. I flinched with it, but it didn't surprise me because I'm expecting a call from her. I know it will be Lisa on the other line.

Wait! I'm wrong?

"Hey! Already home?"

"Hmm... yeah! Just a couple of minutes ago. I'm drained, seriously."

I answered weakly. And if I'm an electronic device, my battery's already shouting this warning that I'm in 'low battery'.

"Me, too. I don't want to do that again. I think I need a week of vacation to recover from these stressful days.

Oh my... I agree with Nayeon. I guess I need that, too. But it's still school days, so how am I supposed to do that? Hmm... Maybe I just need to stick with my plan of staying in my room or have a walk or jog in the park.

"I wish we could do that sooner. Busy days won't end this soon. You know, we're in the last year of High School. It will keep on pouring until the last days."

"Arrg!"

She grumbled. She hates it. She hates it whenever I ruin her mood. But I guess she gets what I meant about that. I'm just being realistic—stating the fact and don't intend to kill the hope in her plate.

"Right!"

"So, what's with the call?"

"Oh, yeah! I almost forgot. Who is Jennie? I mean, why use a name you never used?"

So this is it. This is why she kept on glancing at me and nudging me earlier.

"Hmm... about that. Isn't Jennie closer to Guinevere than Bree? Besides, Jennifer is a common name for Guinevere. Don't you think?"

"I don't think so. I don't think you'll come up with something as shallow as that."

But that's the truth. I didn't mean anything about changing my nickname. I always think that Jennie is a better name for Guinevere than Bree.

"I'm telling you the truth. Why would I lie about it?"

"I don't know. All I know is, you don't do strange things for nothing. So, confess!"
