i walked next to katara, not really paying attention to where i was going. i still couldn't forget what aunt wu said about my future. a big argument? challenge to find my true self? and.. the powerful bender..

"hey look! a sword made out of a whale's tooth." aang said, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"lemme see that" sokka grabbed the sword "this is a water tribe weapon."

he turned to aang "see if you can find anything else"

"did someone lose something?" i asked them.

"no, we found something" aang said, while looking in a bush.

"it's burned" i looked at sokka, throwing away a burned arrow. he walked over to a tree with burn marks.

"there was a battle. water tribe warriors ambushed a group of firebenders" he pointed out.

he looked at the ground and began to walk towards the signs in the ground.

"the firebenders fought back, but the warriors drove them down this hill..." he began to run down the hill. we all ran, of course, after him.

"so then what happened?" aang asked him.

"i don't know. the trail ends here."

katara tapped my shoulder, pointing at something.

"sokka! look!" katara shouted.

"it's one of our boats!" he shouted in excitement.

we ran towards it, now just staring at it.

"is this... dad's boat?" katara asked.

sokka rubbed the ship's prow, smiling at us "no, but it's from his fleet. dad was here."

we decided to settle down and search the next day. while we unpacked, i saw aang not feeling well. i don't mean sick, i mean he looked very uncomfortable.

"i'll go search for some wood for our campfire with aang" i waved at my siblings, grabbing aang's arm.

there was an uncomfortable silence between us, which made me really worried.

"aang, what happened?" i asked him, but he was still not giving attention to me.

"could you please talk to me?"

"will you leave me?" aang asked, looking at the floor.

"what?" i sat next to him, putting my hand on his shoulder "why would i leave you?"

"when you find your dad, will you leave me behind and go with him?" he was still not looking at me.

"aang, look at me, please.." he finally looked into my eyes.

"i would never leave you, okay? no matter what happens, i will always be by your side. don't think, you'll get rid of my that soon" i laughed, making him laugh too.

"i wouldn't want that" he said, still looking into my eyes. we stayed like that for a few more seconds, before we both realized, that our faces were only a few inches away from each other.

"uhh- we should head back, i think we have enough wood" i scratched my neck, slightly embarrassed.

"yeah, haha, but wait- i have an idea" aang grabbed my waist, making me blush. he jumped on a tree, and from there, he jumped from tree to tree. after a few minutes of jumping, we arrived at where we settled down.

"we're back!" i ran towards my siblings.

"finally, i thought you both got captured or something" sokka laughed.
