Society is subdued, quiet, conformative.

Our words are either necessary and purposeful or for no damn reason at all. There is no middle ground, no compromise. We're all too busy shouting our own meaningless cacophony of futile words to hear each other.

People follow people, who follow people, who follow anything, something, they don't understand, like sheep.

Crowding around nothing, watching, waiting, begging for something, anything original to brake through the abyss of society.

Addicted to mass-produced, counterfeit Amazing because we, ourselves follow, without means, without cause or purpose, boring ourselves into monotonous lives. Even when we could choose otherwise.

It's in our nature to be a group, but evolution made us packs, mobs, gangs; angry and silent, then crazy and powerful in waves of confusion, over issues that we made, that make little sense.

We unconsciously follow, reaching, hoping to be a part of something greater, but always wanting to be the center of attention. Always wishing for a paradox. This habit weeds out our individuality; forces it to gasp at the surface before it is sucked down by a current of pop culture.

Yet, we feed off of each other, emotional cannibals, devouring mistakes and ruin like a hunk of meat thrown to starving animals. Faux pas is a dessert cut into with knives and analysed, before it is eaten, just as callously.

Debasement a commodity, more prominent than hope.

Hope that is hidden away, out of sight and out of mind, because it threatens uniformity.

It doesn't have to be this way.

At any moment, any moment you could turn it off, as easy as a switch.

But you won't. Admit it. We're all just as addicted to this life as the next person, and the next and the next and the next, all of us waiting in a line relying on the next to brake the chain.

Even still. I dare you. I dare you.

Because this is your now and tomorrow is your future and that, oh that, is something so very remarkable, because it could be... well darling it could be whatever you make it.
