  i snicker and rudy shoots me a look. i cough and stop instantly.

  "we're wearing the same thing." rudy replies, gesturing between me and himself. we're wearing grey sweatpants and an old t-shirt. my hair is also up in a messy bun because i couldn't be bothered to deal with it today.

  jonathan tsks. "yes but macie looks cute and you do not so get off your ass and change. we need to be in maddie's apartment in ten minutes. get a move on!"

  he makes his exit and drags austin with him by the back of his shirt.

  "i don't wanna change." rudy pouts, setting anakin down as he stands. he approaches me, making grabby hands. i step into his embrace, snuggling into his warmth. "you do look kinda hot in these sweatpants though. can i take them off?"

  "rUDY!" i exclaim, scrambling away from him.

  rudy starts cracking up. i was fine with his dumb comments but i was afraid what would happen if austin ever heard him. my best friend may be supportive of our relationship but he doesn't necessarily need to hear nor witness our private conversations.

  "i'm only half kidding." my boyfriend says. "i'll do that later."

  "oh my god i actually hate you." i whisper, covering my face as my cheeks flare red.

  he scoffs as he heads to our closet. "you love me."

  shaking negative thoughts from my head, i muster enough courage to murmur a "yeah, yeah i do."

his head snaps towards me quicker than lightning.

  "what?" he demands.

  "i love you." i answer simply.

  he blinks a few times. his mouth gapes open and then closes a few times, making me snicker. for once i've left him speechless.

  "HURRY THE FUCK UP!" austin screams from the living room.

  this snaps rudy out of whatever shock he was in and he blurts an "i love you more" before stumbling into his closet, both of our cheeks rosier than usual.
