Sarah~:~ "Hi." Is all I could say? Really? I could've slapped myself. He didn't seem to notice how angry I was with myself cause he said,
"Hello. My name is Nick Rollen. I'm new here. What's your name?" I must have looked flustered cause he laughed. I snapped out of it.
"Sorry. My name is Sarah Chavez. How old are you?" I asked.
"I'm seventeen. You?" He was really good looking with his arms and his visible abs through his shirt and- okay enough about that. The only thing I couldn't get over was the fact that he was the only one without a date above his head.
"I'm sixteen." He nodded. I kept checking above his head and he must have caught me.
"I'm the only one without a death date aren't I?" He asked. I was stunned it took me a moment to begin to speak again.
"A death date?" Is all I could say. The words tasted sour in my mouth. My feelings were all confused.
"It's pretty self explanatory. It's the date someone dies obviously." He explained so calmly. That's when I blacked out.
Nick ~:~ I caught Sarah and put her on the ground. I knelt next to her. "Someone go get the nurse!" I yelled making sure Sarah still had a heartbeat. She did but it was rapid. Even in the midst of this she was beautiful with her copper skin and soft lips. I had a feeling she was new at this whole death dates thing. It can be overwhelming at first but I didn't know how to fix this. The nurse got to the scene.
"What happened?" Nurse Lyn asked frantically.
"I don't know she just fainted." I didn't tell her the truth about what happened cause it was against the rules.
"I'll take her to the office." The nurse explained as she picked up Sarah and took her away. I sat there for a few seconds and then realized everyone was staring at me. I quickly grabbed my backpack and went to class. All I could think about is that I found my new recruit.
