-Lucian-

   "Lucian Lee Jackson! Get down here now!"

   I quickly shot up with wide eyes. I know I'm late for something. I jump out of bed and run downstairs. I saw mom in the living room with her arms folded.

   "Uh, good morning mom." I nervously say.

   "Morning? It's noon Lucian. Did you forget that you have training in 20 minutes?" Training? Oh shit! I rush upstairs and hurriedly brush my teeth. After throwing on gym shorts and a random tee, I sprint to the training field. Uriah was stretching them when I got there.

   "All right, you're done for now. Wait until alpha gets here." she said. The group stopped and bowed when they saw me. I hate when they do that.

   "You're late nephew." Uriah walked past me as she said this.

   "Only by two minutes auntie." I smirked when I saw her glare at me. Uriah isn't that much older than me. She is 24 and I'm 17. She hates when I call her auntie 'cause it makes her feel old.

   "I told you to never call me that." she growled.

   "You did. But I don't listen."

   "Which is going to have to change if you want to be alpha." Both me and Uriah jumped when we heard dad's voice.

   "Have you stretched them yet Uriah?" Dad asks.

   "Just finished." Uriah said.

   "Good. Take the younger ones to the lake. Show them where our borderline is and anything else you think they might need to know." Dad said. Uriah nodded and called for the kids.

   In training, we have two separate groups. Those that haven't shifted yet which is from ages 8-15, and those that have which is from 16-20. Once you reach 21, you can either be a warrior wolf or a regular pack member.

   "Listen up! Today we will travel to the mountains. It's a two hour journey. It will build up your strength and endurance. You are not used to running in your wolf form so this will be a challenge. Try to keep up. Donald will assist you, I have business to attend to." Dad walked off motioning me to follow him.

   "Yes dad?"

   "Why were you late to training?" He asked.

   "Pfft. Me? Late? Never. If anything, I was early but I didn't see anyone so I went searching and when I came back, they magically appeared!" I say. I knew he wouldn't believe me, but he wouldn't fuss at me either.

   "Lucian, you have to be here to stretch. That trip you're taking today is two hours, you can't make it in wolf form."

   "So I won't go in wolf form." I say. I have no problem running in vampire mode. I like my human shape better than my wolf shape anyways.

   Hurtful! My wolf whined.

   I like you dipshit. I just don't like running in that form.

   Yeah whatever asshole. Just run.

   "Bye dad. See at dinner!" I yell as I start running.

   I start off with a small sprint, then a jog, then a full blown run. I could see the blurry trees fly past me as I run faster. I was like lightning. I reached the mountains before anyone else did. From where I was standing, I could see everything. I could see my house and Donald, who was pretty far from the mountains. To say the trip is two hours, it felt like 20 minutes to me. I decided to rest since I was beyond tired. All that running drained me. I could use some silver.... or maybe animal blood? Either one works.

   How about steak? I think I can smell mom cooking it. My wolf said to me.

   Ooh that would be good too. But I need to feed my vampire side as well. I've gone two days without feeding it.

   So let's go hunt. It's gonna take a while for the rest to get here.

   I took off running to a spot that has the best animals. There's mountain lions and elk, and if I'm in a pissed off mood, an unlucky rogue. Drinking wolf blood doesn't phase me that much. My dad and mom on the other hand get their supplements from a special blood gramma makes. I tried it and it's horrible.

   I came to my spot, crouching low. I sniffed the air deeply. Mhmmm deer. It looks so innocent. Oh well.
