A/N: there are some drastic changes in Luke from this chapter. So you've been warned.

4 years later~

Luke:

She ran her index finger on her temples as the pot bellied guy talked on and on about his project.

She is irritated by his nonsense. I'm pretty sure this guy will be receiving a demotion letter by the time the day ends.

"What is the gross investment that we need to spend?" She asked when the guy finally stopped speaking.

"It's written I'm the file ma'am." The man replied.

"I'm asking you." She said this time. Though her face or tone still remained expressionless, the pressure in the board room increased phenomenally.

"Uh... Um..." The guy started stammering.

"What are the factors that can actually make us consider it as a profitable investment?" Mercy asked again.

"Um... Um...." The guy stammered again an the tension in the room increased several folds.

"Give me any detail about this project that you remember." She continued her interrogation.

The man looked like he was seconds away from pissing in his pants.

"Get the guy who actually made this project so that I can understand the project properly. You may leave." She said.

"But ma'am..."

"Now." She said with finality.

We were at Donavan Corp at the moment attending the monthly board member meeting to discuss about big investments of the company. My grandfather had some share in the company and I insisted to attend the meeting in his stead.

Normally the CEO hosts such meetings. But ever since Mercy became the COO four years ago, she had been hosting it.

Soon a guy in his late twenties entered the hall in geeky clothes. There was sweat on his forehead. Obviously he was nervous.

I clenched my fists when I saw Mercy's eyes running on his body ones and then she gestured him towards the chair with head. Obviously she liked his appearance. If she didnt, she wouldn't bother looking at him again like she does for others.

"Can you stop it. It feels creepy." Cindy whispered in ears softly from beside me.

"What do you mean?" I asked irritated for her intrusion.

"The same thing you do every time Mercy is in the room." She whispered back.

"Do what? Can shut up and let me focus on the meeting?" I said harshly.

"Meeting or Mercy?" She mumbled to herself but I totally ignored her.

"Let's go home together today." I offered as we were leaving.

"You don't have anything left to do in the office?" Mercy asked suspiciously.

"Nope. Finished it before coming here." I replied.

"Okay. I have to give a few files to the CEO. We leave then." She accepted.

I nodded and went to wait in her cabin. Finally she got a decent sized cabin. I was honestly going to protest to her grandfather if she finally didn't.

I smiled as I looked at the family photo on her desk. Her entire office was totally professional with a dark theme. Except the numerous plants that our children gave her to keep in her office and a family picture of her, me and the kids. They are five now and can understand many things.

I got up when I saw her shadow outside the translucent glass door. Finally we can return home together. The opportunity to do so is so rare.

But my dreams were shattered when I saw another person entering the cabin behind her.

Please don't let it be what I think it is.

"Cindy wants to meet the kids so she's coming with us." Mercy said vanquishing my last hope.

I glared at Cindy for destroying our peaceful journey and she rolled her eyes at me.

Just like I thought, the entire journey back home turned noisy because my sister kept on chattering with Mercy.

I took out my smartphone at clicked a picture of Mercy as she talked happily with Cindy.

Why doesn't she ever talk to me so happily ever? Suddenly, I got more irritated at my sister.

"Will you guys keep it down and let a person have some peace?" I said sourly.

"Will you stop sulking?" Cindy retorted.

"I'm not sulking." I bit back.

"Sure you're not." She replied in a skeptical tone.

Soon we arrived to our home. The kids came running when they heard us coming and ran towards us. Mercy laughed as she bent down on her knees to welcome them with a hugs.

I took out my phone and clicked a few pictures of her.

"You need professional help." Cindy said to me, looking at me with disdain.

"Professional help for what?" I asked absently, trying to click a few more pictures. I can't help it. They look so cute together.

"Brother, for ones, look at something else while she's present in the room." Cindy said dejectedly.

"I do not understand what you mean." I replied.

"You, acting like a creepy stalker to your own wife. That's what I mean. Don't you think you're paying a little to much attention at her?" She said.

"No. Not at all. I give her the same attention I give everyone else." I said rejecting her weird idea. "Stan, get us something cool and refreshing to drink." I said when I saw Mercy looking at the fridge. She does that only when she's thirsty.

"Jesus." Cindy said with defeated sigh.

A/N: okay, so I presume a lot of you guys have problem with Luke. But you need to understand, everything you know about the past Luke is from Mercy's prospective. I can only say, "Calm thyself."

Because the real case maybe completely different.

And who the fuck said Luke ever cheated on Mercy. I never wrote that. I just said they got close. It is totally different from cheating.

And trust me I do not glorify cheating. It can't be glorified no matter what you do.

Okay, so I'll stop giving spoilers now. Try to keep an open mind and enjoy the story.
