Covid or Corona
Pandemic or tragedy
All the same
All her names
For she swayed continent to continent
As if Earth is her Garth
Death galores
Country lockdown
Boarder closure
All her juvinile
Fatherless juvenile
SARS, MERS
Murbug, Ebola
All her sisters
Sisters with less energy.
This invisible lady
Blah and dangerous
Predisposed and chocked us
Enough to test
The patience of a saint
But,
Being sated,
Zonked and zoned
Was no solution
Racism and discriminate
Was peripheral
Being adamant and supreme
Was beside the point.
In our spring time,
Hale and hearty
Yet in seventh heaven,
An invisible nemesis,
A nemesis from the far East...
Caught us off guard,
For we thought it was their enigma
Her boffins and neoterics
Country to country,
Continent to continent,
Misted up with covid-19
Until we all yelled for rescue
Rescue from our compeer
Countries searched for a cure
A cure to a mystery.
Countries locked down
Boarders closed,
All were done;
Done to avoid more of her ambushes
But;
Nothing changed,
Nothing changed at all;
Coffins multiplied
Lamentations filled the air
For Corona Virus had attacked
The invisible nemesis had ambushed
A solution was to be delivered,
A life saver solution
For blacks and whites,
Young and old.
A solution to us all.
We masked
Like surgeons in operation,
Stayed home
Like nestlings in a nest,
Washed hands
Like doctors at work,
Kept distance
Like fish from land,
Became suspicious
Like dogs on a watch.
We were inhuman then
To be human today,
Selfish then
To be selfless today,
Antisocial then
To be social today,
Apart then
To be together today
Lived then
To Tell a story today

A STORY TO TELL.
