Time for the son of Tessa and Will Herondale to get a team. Heads up though, James has more Pokemon and stronger ones thanks to his training buddies the Merry Thieves. James is also the only character who I think would give all his Pokemon a nickname.

James's first Pokemon. He met him as a Zorua while his family were on vacation on Isle of Armor (this world's Idris). The Zorua was originally Jesse Blackthorn's Pokemon before he died. Zorua ran away from the Blackthorn family manor after it's trainer's death, due to his fear of Jesse's (insane) mother, taking it's Poke Ball with him, meeting James not long after.

Nickname: Wolf Pokemon: Lycanroc (Midnight Form) Gender: Male Type: Rock Ability: Keen Eye
Moves: Rock Slide, Fire Punch, Counter, Crunch
Another Pokemon James meet and caught on the Isle of Armor, Wolf is the first Pokemon James caught. I made Wolf a Midnight Lycanroc as a nod to James being 1/4 demon.

So far the only Shadowhunter I have given a starter Pokemon evolution. I chose the Sobble line for James because as a young boy, Jamie was known to be very shy and awkward around other people, very similar to Sobble, but grew into a capable and smart young man, just like Sobble's final evolution.

Like my Carstairs having a tradition of using Steel type Pokemon headcannon, I think that every famous/old Shadowhunter family would have a Pokemon type tradition of their own. For the Herondale's they tend to specialize in Flying type Pokemon, despite family members tending to have fears of bird Pokemon. Many believe this type tradition started as a way for the family to overcome their fear.
