"I was born and raised in Germany. I visited two classes at the same time when I was 5 years old, public school and the masjid. After some time I participated in singing Nasheeds in a children's choir and we performed every Eid together in front of our parents and friends. When I was 13 I realized that I am deaf in my right ear. But that wasn't all. Since 13, I have a loud BEEP noise that penetrates my ear every hour for 24 hours, without a break. Sometimes it is very difficult to sleep and sometimes I go to school and work with zero sleep if it gets real bad. At the same time, people bullied me saying that my voice is awful and that I sound like an animal. It was very depressing for me. So I stopped singing Nasheeds and going to the masjid. I did this for two years and realized that this is not the answer. I started singing again. I had my first performance after my 2 year break at a wedding. That is when I started getting into reciting the Quran with Tajweed. Learning Tajweed with the Quran actually enhanced my singing abilities as well. I fell in love with the sound of the Quran. I learned to give every letter of Allah's words his feature, his right, his pronunciation and that is what Tajweed is. Learning Tajweed perfected my ability to recite and sing Nasheeds. Before I knew it I was getting calls left and right from people to perform at weddings. I became the guy that was known for singing at everybody's weddings. Look my dear brothers and sisters, I was a child, the people bullied me and took my motivation but I came back stronger. Do not ever give up and always come back to Allah." - Issam Bayan
