The Soothing Love

Marinette Dupain-Cheng is all alone; and all because of one person.

Lila Rossi is a liar and a life-ruiner, and she's proud of that fact.

She single-handedly made all of Paris, besides a few select people, turn against her only threat: the blue-haired, strong willed girl that saw past her nice facade since the first day in the classroom.

She took her friends. Drove away her family. Stole create for any good deeds. And, most of all, she made Marinette turn into a bully and crazy girl in the eyes of her beloved ones— making the young hero's life living hell.

But after three years, Marinette is now eighteen, sole guardian of the Miracle Box, lonely beyond measure, and scared of well... everyone.

She's used to abuse.

She's used to being pushed down and belittled.

She's used to being hurt and sad.

She's ready to leave Paris behind, ready to protect it from a distance.

The only problem with that is getting the miraculous' back from their previous owners and friends, and Hawkmoth still terrorizing the city.

She needed an escape— and she was given one.

Luka Couffaine was a gentle soul, one filled with sturdiness and comfort and music.

No one seemed to understand that the behavior that had been forced down her throat for the last couple years wasn't so easy to throw up and ignore like it never happened.

Well... besides one person— him.

He cared for her, loved her— protected her, even. They don't like the world, or some of the people in that world, but they like each other. They care for, heal, and understand what it's like to fill the other's shoes.

They don't need labels or deep meanings or love conversations about how they feel; they just need each other.

They don't know if they're in love, but this is enough.

For most of their life, love has been something that caused pain. An itch or bruise they couldn't help but to bother, an ache in the back of their spine after a long day.

Together, however, they find a soothing love.
