The boy seemed to believe me. "Now if you could excuse me, I want to throw away the poor excuse of meat and buy some food for those kids." I spoke, walking out of the bathroom. I grabbed the meats and piled them up. I then turned to the boy, "Stay here. I don't want any casualties." I spoke before walking out of my home.

It had still been dark, but I could see the sun over the horizon. That means I should hurry before the villagers start exiting their homes. I slightly jogged out of the village and to the forest. I dig a hole and quickly dump the meat in there. I cover the hole back up and run back to the village.

Once there, I see a few people exit their homes and I greet them. "Morning Albert." I greeted a passing man.

I quickly bought some stew, gave it to the children, and proceeded to run back home.

But, before I could go any further, I bumped into the Village Chief. "You seem to be in a rush, F/N ." he spoke. "Ah yes, morning Chief. I just wanted to throw away all my trash and come back to my patient." I spoke hurriedly. "Now if you'd excuse me." I side stepped him and started walking away.

I get stopped by Griffin. "Morning, Griffin." I spoke through gritted teeth. I just want to get back home, I don't need to deal with an eight year old delusional child!!!

"Shouldn't you be starting with your training?" I asked. I looked at the groups of children, being taught how to wield a sword and what not.

My mood dampens.

"One day I'll chase you out of the village myself, and the Chief--no, the whole village will be in gratitude!" he spoke with vehement determination. He then started running to the group of children.

I sighed and made my back to my house. I lazily enter my house and fall onto my couch. The boy is sitting on the opposite couch.

"You know I never caught your name." I spoke.  "The reason being I never threw it." he explained. I deadpan.

He sees it and smirks.

Oh great...

"My day started off as bad as it can get, don't ruin it anymore than it has." I spoke, sitting up. "If you really are desperate." he starts. "Then my name is Zeldris."

"Well then Zeldris, my name is F--"

"That I already know." he cut me off. I tilt my head to the side. "How?" I asked. "I overheard your conversation with that Village Chief of yours." Zeldris explained.

"Okay, how about I cook us a proper breakfast?" I ask, standing up.

I don't give him a chance to answer because I am already in the kitchen, making food.

I come out with two plates, one on each hand. Each plate has bacon, eggs and toast. I give one to Zeldris and am about to start eating my own.

There is knocking on my door, stopping me. I place my food on the couch and stand up to open the door.

"Hey F/S, I've come to ch--"

I slam the door on Griffin's face. I'm annoyed.

I have the urge to walk away and continue eating but I open the door slightly. My head is the only thing peeking out the door. "What are you here for, Griffin?" I asked.

"And don't say shi-- stuff like 'I've come to check up on you'." I stated. I am aware that I almost swore in front of the boy. "The Village Chief told me to come and hang around here while he discusses something with his friends in our house." Griffin explained.

"Of course he did." I mutter under my voice, annoyed. "Just give me a second."

Before he can reply, I shut the door.

I close my eyes, trying to control my rage. "Okay, okay. You just have to deal with an annoying eight year old for the day, that shouldn't be bad. Not at all..." I try to reassure myself.

I open my eyes and see Zeldris.

Shit! I forgot about him.

"Perhaps it might... ." my eye twitched.

It's obvious this guy is a demon, but I really don't need Griffin knowing that. I take a deep breath.

"Hey Zeldris, I need you to do me a favour." I started. He hummed in response and I continued. "Would it be trouble if you were to remove your demon markings for the day?" I asked.

He was reluctant, to say the least, but after a whole lot of debating and a promise I wish I could unmake, he finally agreed. His demon markings dissappear and his eyes have the most exotic shade of green.

I smile thankfully before turning around and opening the door. I had only opened it slightly when Griffin came barging in. "About time you opened for me." he commented.

He walked to the living room and started eating my food. I resist the urge to kill him and sit next to Zeldris.

I try concealing my deadly aura, though it was not as successful. Griffin hadn't sensed it (which I don't think he ever could (he didn't have any magical abilities within him)) but Zeldris did. "You don't like the kid?" Zeldris asked.

"No, no. Not that. It's just he and I don't have the bes--"

"You're food was horrible, F/S." Griffin spoke, burping.

I nod without thinking.

A/N : Just know that this isn't part of the plot.

We still have a few chapters to go through (probably 5 left) before I start the actual part of the story.

All because of character development (I don't like it when people rush things too much).
