donghyuck and mark were walking from the front door to mark's car.

donghyuck had convinced the other boy to let him go in his human form, so mark had accepted if donghyuck wore his clothes and a beanie to hide his cat ears.

so, that's how donghyuck ended up with baggy jeans and a black oversized sweater that smelled like mark, plus one of mark's beanies on his head to top it all.

donghyuck sat on the passenger seat, wincing when he accidentally sat on his tail that mark had hidden and tucked in the waistband of his pants, just against one of his legs.

one he was comfortably sat, donghyuck sighed, waiting for the engine to start, but instead, mark approached his face from his, as if he was about to kiss him.

donghyuck flushed, his eyes wandering to mark's lips, his own puckering a bit to accept mark's sweet ones, but the feeling never came.

actually, donghyuck felt mark tugging something behind him, next to his waist, and then pulling it in front of him. this caused mark to pull back from his position.

"safety first, kitten." he smiled, fastening donghyuck's seatbelt with a smile.

what did donghyuck expect? a kiss?

how stupid of him...

mark and him weren't a thing!

they had an owner-cat relationship. they weren't lovers. actually, they weren't even friends!

what was donghyuck expecting...

mark couldn't help but notice his hybrid – and now, he could call donghyuck his – sulking in his seat, his heat lowering, his lower lip pouting slightly, and his eyes somehow getting watery.

"hey?" he asked, laying his hand on the boy's thigh in a comforting manner. "is there something wrong?"

donghyuck looked at him, his head tilted. he still had this cute habit of his. in mark's eyes, it was the cutest thing ever. it made him fall deeper each time donghyuck did it...

"no, it's okay..."

"i'm sorry if i did something that you didn't like." mark apologised. "will you forgive me if i take you to the mall?"

donghyuck raised his head, the tears in his eyes disappearing immediately, and a big smile appearing on his cute face. "i guess so."

mark chuckled. "then, let's go to the mall."

"mark!" donghyuck whined dragging on the 'a'. "my legs are hurting..."

mark and him had already spent two hours wandering around the big mall of their town. they had gone into several shops, just to look around, and even to buy some things. mark was carrying tons of bags at the moment. he didn't want to let donghyuck tire himself. and, well... donghyuck was already carrying the lion plushie that mark had bought him previously, and he had been too busy talking to him as if it was his own pet to carry anything else.

"do you want to eat an ice cream?" mark inquired, motioning a small café that sold different kinds of food.

donghyuck looked at the place and smiled. "what do you think markie?" he asked his lion plushie. "markie says yes. so, let's go!" donghyuck beamed after a moment.

"markie?" mark raised a brow.

"yeah, he reminds me of you." donghyuck chuckled.

mark laughed slightly. "sit down, i'll go buy us something." he added, setting the bags next to donghyuck.

the hybrid nodded, looking at mark heading towards the queue before directing his attention back on the plushie in his arms.

"excuse me?" a girl's voice interrupted him after some time.

donghyuck raised his head to meet hina's eyes, making him panic.

"huh... yeah?" he tilted his head to the side.

"i saw you with mark just two minutes ago, and i couldn't help but come and ask you what was your relationship. i'm hina, his soon-to-be girlfriend. you two seemed to be close, so, he surely talked to you about me." she flashed donghyuck a charming smile, making donghyuck clench his jaw.

"of course, he told me about you." donghyuck smiled fakely.

"i'm reassured." hina chuckled. "are you a member of his family?"

donghyuck thought for a second, turning around to see mark at the counter, ordering their food.

"you could say it like that." he told.

"this means we'll be related soon. you seem like a pretty warm-hearted person..."

"donghyuck." the hybrid completed her sentence.

"you have a beautiful name."

donghyuck blushed. "thank you."

he couldn't really decipher what hina was doing.

was she just a kind person, throwing random compliments here and there?

or was she trying to obtain something?

it was rather disturbing and donghyuck felt uneasy in his place.

"so. what's your relationship with mark?" she asked for the nth time, expecting for a clear answer.

and, well... if she wanted a clear answer, donghyuck would give her one.

he turned around one last time, seeing mark leaving the counter, two ice creams in his hands and a smile on his face.

donghyuck was about to say things that mark would surely kill him for, but if that meant hina would let him be, it was worth a try...

"donghyuck? i asked you- "

"i'm his." donghyuck cut her.

she raised an eyebrow, not understanding what he had told her.

"mark is my boyfriend."
