This forest is kinda scary. Jeongyeon internally coward at the towering trees that seemed to be in all directions. I just really wanna go home! She kept walking in the direction away from the ocean she crawled out of but she's not even sure if she was making progress distancing herself from it. One foot in front of the other. She repeated to herself. You can do this. You can find him.
Jeongyeon trekked though the vines, small holes in the ground, mud. Some even got in her joints and restricted her ankle screws until she stopped, let it dry, and removed it. She was growing tired and the sun was fading behind the forest, its rays disappearing with it. She noticed some lights slowly appear from probably farther in and followed them. Approaching them, she felt how the ground changed. No longer was it grass, dead leaves, twigs, and loose soil but somewhat paved- solid and marking new territory.
She heard voices and desperately ran to them. "Please help me. I need to find my maker and father!" Jeongyeon clung to the arm of someone who immediately threw her back. She crawled back to them and continued pleading. "I beg, help me find my father!"
"Can't help with that now, but one 'father' you should know is the Lord." They lowered themselves and shoved a bible in her view. "We're about to start our Overnight Service. Come along with me."
Jeongyeon backed up and tried standing. "But I don't want that father. I want Geppetto. He made me."
"God made every human on this planet. You can learn about him tonight."
"But I'm not human yet. That's why I want to go back. To see the Blue Fairy and ask her to make me a real girl." She informed them.
They were not pleased to hear that. Their faces dropped and turned into scowls and disgust. "But fairies do no exist, child. Come learn about the true, holy power of the Lord and He will make you human according to his image." Another tried to persuade her once more.
She did not like that though. "But I have seen the Blue Fairy and even have a deal with her for her to make me human. Please, just help me find Geppetto!"
The dwellers of the small village were angered now. "She has made a deal with a demon! Take her out of our lands!" One of them ordered. They grab her by her shirt and legs and lifted her off the ground. They throw her over someone's shoulder and he chugs on to the outskirts of his village. Jeongyeon was afraid and tried to fight back, pounding on and clawing at his back. He walked on strongly until he finally threw her onto the grass and gravel.
As she opened her eyes after the impact, she was noticed how far she was from the village. The lamps from the entire town looked more like a single, distant candle.
Jeongyeon turned her head to the ground she was on, hoping to see the unique paving the ground and she did. Seeing as how she just got kicked out of one village, she decided to follow the marked land below her. Maybe it'll take me to their sister village. And maybe they're nicer too. She hoped.
She picked herself up, dusted her clothes off, and began following the path blindly in the dark. Jeongyeon had closed her tired eyes and went into autopilot, walking in a somewhat straight line along the gravel path.
She opened her eyes when the state of matter changed from solid to liquid. "Water?" She asked herself. Opening her eyes again, she saw that it was indeed water. A small stream. Not too deep to drown, but deep enough to collect water and bathe. "So that's why this path is marked..." Jeongyeon sat down on the river bank. "I'm never gonna find Geppetto!" She whined as she cried into her arms.
"Why are you crying, little one?" A sweet voice asked. It wasn't one she recognized, but it was friendly.
But Jeongyeon had learned her lesson - talking to strangers can be bad, so she responded, "It just seems like the right thing to do. Who are you?"
