Remmi always found his life boring. Nothing interesting ever happens in the small town he lives in. In the 21 years he's been alive everything has been a normal life, then the dog appeared. The first time he saw the dog on his porch he offered it food and water. The dog ignored both and stared at Remmi. Surprised to see the dog on his porch the next day, Remmi invited the stray to come into his home, the dog remained unmoving. Everyday the dog would be gone by the morning and sitting on the porch when he returned home. Remmi would continue to leave food and water for the dog only to find them both untouched each morning. Some nights Remmi would look out his window only to find the dog staring directly at him.
One day Remmi came home late and noticed something off about the dog. At first glance the dog seemed the same, but on closer inspection the dog appeared bigger and more rugged. The dog stared up at him as he opened the door. He grabbed food and water for the dog, fully knowing it would not be touched, and placed it in front of the dog. As Remmi was about to head inside, the dog stood up. It walked down the steps of the porch and stopped looking back at Remmi expectantly. Remmi follows the dog as it takes him into the forest at the side of his house.
Azrin stares up at the house in front of him. A family of 5 moved in a week ago. Two of the kids were playing with a ball in the yard while the younger kid sat on the porch reading. The parents were inside preparing dinner. Azrin roams closer to the house knowing he wouldn't be seen. The house was a lot different then when he lived there after all it's been over 300 years. He sighed wondering what would've happened if he hadn't followed the dog. He walks up the steps of the porch comparing it with his memory of the house.
"Why do you have a tail?," the kid on the porch asks. Azrin stares at the child in confusion. Nobody should be able to see him unless they made a deal with him and he's sure he hasn't made a deal with a kid.
"Why do you have a nose?," Azrin responds not wanting to answer the kid's question.
"That's not fair, a nose is normal, tails are weird."
"Some animals have tails, is that weird?" Azrin leans against the wall of the house.
"No but it's not normal for a human to have a tail," the kid exclaims.
"Well I'm not human." Azrin speaks slightly annoyed. "What's your name kid?"
"I'm Reo. What's your name mister tail?"
"Remmi." Reo smiles up at him about to speak when his mother peaks out the door and calls the kids to dinner. He then waves Azrin goodbye and heads inside. Azrin gives the house one more glance before walking into the forest.
