Chapter 1

For the sake of my best friend, I agreed to go to a party her family was invited to. I've always hated parties. I always considered parties as boisterous events that shows your true colours. But after ages of convincing from Minji, I finally went along with it. Minji was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Whereas, I was born in an average family. However, it's never really bothered me. She wanted me to go because she didn't want to be bored to death at another business event where people rolling in money show off their latest accomplishments.
     Currently, I have been trying to adjust in a black silky dress with a single slit on my right leg that shows my curves evidently. But the black heels was annoying me to death. First, I couldn't walk properly. Second, I looked like a giraffe that is probably taller than any man in the party. My neck was too revealing. I hated it. However, my best friend said otherwise.

"Y/n stop it. You look breathtaking. Don't even deny it. And it's not showing cleavage at all." Minji complimented enthusiastically.

"Ugh. Why does it have to be so tight? It's so uncomfortable." I whined.

She chuckled. "Get used to it. You will be attending more parties with me." She winked.

I gave her the 'do you wanna die look.' I squirmed in my seat, with a frown on my face.

We were on our way to the building where the party will be hosted.

"Um.... I thought you were used to wearing these types of dresses. In fact, aren't you the one who chose this dress?" Minji asked.

"It makes my butt look huge." I said.

"Isn't that a good thing?"

"If you want perverts glaring at your butt, then yeah."

Minji rolled her eyes. She had that thinking expression where she would squint her eyes and bit her lower lip. After a moment, she smiled at me.

"I have the perfect solution."

After rummaging through her purse, she grasped a gold necklace. It had an appealing butterfly that made me gasp.

"Wear this."

She placed it in my hand in my hand cautiously. I was awestruck and felt it's cold surface. My eyes were glued to it. It looked mesmerising.

"Thank you!" I exclaimed as I wore the necklace, sending shivers down my spine. Maybe this party will not be that bad. "Where did you get it?"

"I saw it when I was shopping today. It reminded me of you so I bought it. Also, I felt bad for dragging you to this party, knowing how much you hate these type of events." Minji said. "It looks beautiful on you."

I wrapped my arms around her. I'm so lucky to have a friend like her.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you. You really are the best!" Breaking the embrace.

She chuckled. "Anything for my best friend."

The car ride was silent after that. Within a few minutes, we reached our destination. It was a massive building called Park Organisation. The driver opened the door for the both of us. We stepped out out of the car in astonishment. Minji's parents were in a separate car.

The air was cool as it approached me. There were paparazzi outside the main entrance, where the red carpet was. I felt like a celebrity as I walked on the red carpet. The attention, flashlights and the camera all excited me. I was jumping on the inside. It felt so exhilarating.
