Snow Day (Merlin x Reader)

Summary: Merlin and (Y/n) wake up to Camelot covered in snow. :)

I woke up shivering and rolled over in bed to see Merlin asleep beneath a pile of blankets. I sighed and crawled over to snuggle into the crook off his arm. It wasn't until I fully opened my eyes that I noticed the snowflakes falling outside the window. I jumped up and rushed over to get a better look, Camelot was covered in a thick blanket of snow. I grinned and rushed over to Merlin.

"Merlin!" I whisper-shouted at him. "Wake up and come see this!"

He rolled over and groaned in response. "It's my day off (y/n)...." he moaned.

"But it's snowing!" I yelled jumping onto the bed beside him and grinning.

That woke him up, he jumped up and ran to the window to see the freshly fallen snow. He turned to me with a wide smile. "What are we doing here then?" He said tugging me out of the room. "I have a snowball fight to win." He said with a smirk.

"Oh, you are so going to lose," I said racing to the door to get my coat and boots on.

"We'll see about that." he said while grabbing my gloved hand and pulling me out the door.

When we stepped outside we were both shocked at how beautiful the snow was. It must have snowed all night because the snow drifts were 3 feet high.

"Wow." was all we could say as we looked around.

"It's beautiful." I stated, unable to believe our luck "Camelot hasn't had snow like this is years." 

"Yeah, it really is beautiful." Merlin said with a soft smile.

We stared at the snow for a few more seconds before remembering why we came out in the first place.

"So..." I said with a smirk. " are you ready to lose now?"

Merlin was pulled out of his trance to see a snow ball flying at his chest.

"Oh, (y/n) (L/n) it is so on." He said as he quickly ducked behind a snow pile to avoid any more flying snow.

For the rest of the morning we enjoyed building snowmen, snowforts, and playing in the snow. As the morning wore on more and more people filled the streets to enjoy the snow. Merlin even managed to use magic to make a snowball fly around after Arthur and hit him it the back of the head. (Harry Potter anyone? 😂) 

"MERLIN!" He yelled after the third snowball hit him. He had just heard me and Merlin laughing.

Gwaine caught us hiding behind a tree and winked at us. "Nice shot." He said grinning.

"C'mon," Merlin muttered that me "Lets go before he decides I don't get the day off." 

I chuckled and followed him back to my house to make hot choclate.

                                                                ~Time Skip~

We sat on top of a hill overlooking Camelot and drinking our hot chocolate. I leaned my head on his shoulder and looked up at him.

"What?" He said smiling softly down at me.

"Nothing, I just had a lot of fun today." I said sitting up and smiling at him.

"I'm glad, I had a lot of fun too." he said with a smile.

I looked at him for a moment before leaning in and kissing him softly. He smiled against my lips before we connected again.
