"Hurry over, okay? I need help picking out what to wear," I say before Em hangs up the phone.
"Okay," she laughs, "five minutes."
Emily has been my best friend since preschool and I couldn't ask for a better best friend or acquaintance to the concert. Em is a huge One Direction fan; she's the one that got me into them in the first place. I can't wait until tomorrow night when we actually get to see them in person. Just the thought gives me chill bumps. Looking down at the book I have in my hands I realize I had planned to finish it by this weekend but I'm too distracted now. I walk over to my bookshelf and place the book on the top, then turn on Four on my phone in honor of the concert. I hear the front door open and close, and Em pops her curly brunette head and blue eyes around the corner.
"Hiya!" Emily says excitedly. Gosh, she's the most energetic person I know and she is always like this.
"Hey! Excited?"
"Umm, very!" She grins brightly. "I have something for you." She dances over to my bed holding something behind her back.
"You do, now?" I ask. It could be anything; a used pencil with flowers all over it or a new book, you can never tell.
"Yeah....," she pauses, "I don't know if you really want I though....," she teases.
"Oh, come on, can I see now?" I stick out a lip and pout.
"Here." She tosses it on the bed. I rip the paper off and find Four in vinyl. "How's that for late birthday slash early thanks for the concert present?" She giggles.
"O my gosh it's perfect! I'm putting it on now," I say skipping over to my record player. Steal my girl begins to play. "Auuuuwww, it sounds a million times better in vinyl and I didn't think it was possible to be this great."
"You are such a dork," Em says teasing me about my love for records. "Oh, and this ones out of place." She points to my the book with the blue spine I laid on on top of the book self. The bookshelf is color coded and she thinks it's hilarious.
"I know, silly. It's like that on purpose, not done reading it."
"Well, personally I think the blue clashes with that shade of orange."
"Shut up," I laugh and punch her lightly.
Em points a finger at me, "Watch it, I'll take the vinyl back."
"Nooo," I whine, "anything but the vinyl." And we both break into hysterical laughter. "I know why we don't have any other friends," I say in between breaths.
"Yeah, me too, our flyness scares people away."
"More like we just scare people away."
"What are you talking about?" She imitates a voice crack, "We are too cool."
"Whatever, just help me pick out my outfit for tomorrow," I say opening up my closet.
