Sadie nods

"Thanks." Sadie says

"Alright, we should let Landon rest now." Hope says

Landon waves a goodbye as the girls walk out

Sadie and Hope are walking down the hallway of the school

"I've asked Dr Saltzman for a seat on the council." Hope tells her. "I can ask for one for you."

"Thanks, but I really don't want one." Sadie says

"Why not?" Hope asks

"I just don't think I'd be a good leader." Sadie says. "Even if it's just myself I'd be leading...I can't...trust myself enough to make good decisions...especially if I get angry."

"But you don't get angry all the time." Hope says

"That's not what Dr Saltzman thinks...or anyone else for that matter." Sadie says. "I trust you. You can represent the both of us."

"Okay." Hope says

Sadie walks away and Hope walks into the room where the council is meeting

DREAM

Sadie is running in the woods

A river pulls her to a violent halt

She stops and searches for a way across...maybe a bridge

A branch cracks behind her, forcing her hesitation to change into motion

She steps into the river

She immediately winces at the cold water but continues forwards

She breaks into a swim before finally reaching the other side, pulling herself out of the water and onto the bank

Her blood and water-soaked nightgown clings to her as she stumbles through the woods

Sadie's vision blurs, but she continues forwards

The full moon shines above

A wolf roars

And a scream echoes through the night

Sadie screams awake, sitting up in bed

Her breathing is rapid and she's sweating like crazy

She tries to slow her breathing down but it isn't working very well

She pulls her covers away and dangles her feet over the side of her bed, holding a hand to her heart

The door bursts open

Landon and Raf are there, Landon holding a bat

"Are you okay?" Raf asks, running over to her. He kneels down, grabbing her hands

Sadie tries to speak but her voice fails so she settles for just nodding

Landon walks around the room with the bat

"What happened?" Landon asks, putting the bat down

"I just...I had a nightmare...it's nothing." Sadie says, leaning back against the wall, her breathing finally steadying

"It didn't sound like nothing." Landon points out

"I just..." Sadie starts. "I get nightmares a lot. I'm sorry I woke you guys up." She shakes her head. "Just, uh, talk to Dr Saltzman in the morning and he can move you guys to a different room, I won't be offended--"

"We're not gonna leave you for having a bad dream." Raf says, standing up

"Sorry." Sadie whispers. "People...people normally leave me."

"For having nightmares?" Landon asks. "That blows."

"For being a burden." Sadie corrects in a whisper

Sadie looks down at her hands

She shakes her head as if to shake her thoughts away

"Thank you for checking on me." Sadie tells the boys. "I'm sorry you got cut, Landon."

Landon nods

Sadie lays back down in bed, pulling the covers onto her

Raf and Landon share a look before leaving the room

Sadie sighs, uncovering herself from the blanket and walking over to her window

She opens the window up and sits on the sill, breathing in the crisp night air

SADIE: Dreams are interesting. They're almost completely run by your subconscience and they force things to the surface. Much of my past is unknown to me, blocked out by trauma. But sometimes, every now and then, I get another little piece of the puzzle through my dreams.
