We spent the whole day conversing and bonding with each other. The oldies had a long incessant talk about something we, the youngsters don't care and have a no idea about. We only stop what we are doing when we started eating for lunch.
When the sun starts to set, everyone decided to call it a day since work day na tomorrow.
"Take good care of your selves, ma, pa. We'll visit again soon," si tita Ann.
"Ano ka ba Annita! Tumanda lang kami nagkaganyan na kayo," si Lolo habang nakasimangot at natawa naman kami.
"We just can't help but worry Pa," si tito Philip.
Nagsimula narin kaming humakbang palayo pagkatapos magmano.
I went towards my grandparents ang hugged them. Lola hugged me back while smiling. "Take care apo. Mag-aral nang mabuti ha?"
After we said our goodbyes, we went inside the car. Papa started driving. I looked out on the window, staring at the purple skies with a tint of pink, and smiled. I'm tired but all in all it was fun. I continued looking out until we arrived in front of our gate.
We ate dinner and immediately went upstairs to prepare for bed. After I washed up, I checked my phone and saw Reese's messages awhile ago. He asked how my day went and so I replied saying that we visited my grandparents kaya hindi ko napansin ang message niya.
The next day was Monday.
I just sighed. "Kung namomroblema na tayo sa dalawang subject na 'yan, paano pa kaya ang Math?"
Dahil sa sinabi ko, napahilot nalang ang dalawa sa sentido.
Ng matapos kaming kumain, bumili ako nang highlighter kasi magsstart na kaming mag-aral para sa exam. Hindi na sumama ang dalawa kasi naiinitan daw sila kaya nauna na silang umakyat sa classroom namin.
Our classroom is located in the second building. Nasa pinakadulo sa taas.
I stopped on my tracks when I saw a familiar person standing three steps below our classroom window, peeking inside. I raised a brow and smirked.
"Your spying skills suck," sabi ko sabay tapik sa balikat niya.
With wide eyes and slightly parted lips, Reese turned. His face turned red, screaming embarrassment, like he was caught doing something shameful.
"Hey there," I laughed and wave him hello.
"H-hi," he stammered and then smiled. I smiled back and turned away after.
After a year of ignoring each others existence, I was able to see his smile again. Who would've thought.
As I entered our room still with a big happy grin plastered on my face, I continued the day with a smile.
The next following days were so hectic. We became busy because of the upcoming exam. Reese and I still chat each other every now and then pero hindi pa rin kami nakakapag-usap sa personal. Aside sa we both don't know how to strike a conversation because we find it awkward, busy rin kami sa pag-aaral kaya we never had the chance to talk.
I went home feeling tired. We were about to eat dinner when I noticed someone missing. "Ma, nasaan si papa?"
She is placing the viand that she cooked before answering. "May company dinner daw sila kaya hindi siya makakasalo sa atin."
My brows furrowed because of that. Company dinner? Wala namang company dinner na nangyari before ah? I shrugged the thought off.
After eating, I washed the dishes and studied for a bit before I decided to wash up.
I went out of the bathroom when I saw my phone lit up. It was a message from Reese.
Reese:
Have you eaten dinner?
Abrianna:
Yes, ikaw?
Reese:
Done. Am I disturbing you?
Abrianna:
Hindi naman. I'm just tired. Studying for hours is so tiring, mabuti nalang tapos na ang exam.
Reese:
Oh right, yes. Matulog ka na, we'll just talk next time. Good night.
Abrianna:
Okay. Good night!
That was our conversation before I decided to sleep.
The next morning was a not so busy day, 'buti nalang. We are currently eating lunch sa cafeteria. Exams were finally done. At last makakacatch up na kaming magkakaibigan. Yes, most of the time we are together pero ang kadalasang topic talaga namin ay tungkol sa mga subjects etc. The three of us agreed naman na pagkatapos na nang exam magchichika.
"So anong ganap?"
"Walang ganap sa akin," sagot ni Sabrina.
"Eto may ka chat na ako finally. Kilala niyo 'yong Gr. 10 sa..." Cassi started talking about her new found chatmate na taga Gr. 10 sa kabilang building.
Sabrina raised a brow. "Paano mo nakachat 'yon?"
"Nang wave lang ako sa kahit sino girl kaya ayon ang daming kong ka chat kagabi. Si Dave lang yung nagtagal," si Cassi sabay halakhak.
"Ba't ang tahimik mo diyan Bri?"
They noticed my silence pala. I was reluctant whether I will tell them about me and Reese's progress. I have no idea what they will say about it. And I don't know how to say it either. Or should I even tell them about it? I mean its nothing big. Teka nga, bakit ko ba 'to binibig deal? These are my friends we're talking about. We always share what's happening in our lives I can't just keep this a secret from them when they tell me almost everything. And its not like ex ko si Reese or ano.
"Okay na kami ni Reese."
Should I say it like that? Or?
"Nag chat si Reese sa'kin."
"Ano?" "Ha?" sabay na sabi nang dalawa na nagpapukaw sa akin.
Oops, did I say that out loud? Shit. Here goes nothing.
"A-Ah, ano.. Okay na kami ni Reese. We already mend the invisible rift between us."
