Backstory: Elena grew up in a small rural town in Tennessee on a farm. She was taught the value of hard work from her parents and from the lifestyle she had as a child. She always wanted to do the right thing for people and to help them. It took a while for her to figure out what she wanted to do with her life, but eventually decided on becoming a surgeon. She was always interested in that type of thing from helping her dad birth animals on their farm. Even she will admit that it's odd she didn't want to be a vet. After high school, she went to Stanford to become a surgeon after being inspired by the tv shows she watched as a kid and being a farm kid. She made it through one year of internship and halfway through her five year long residency before quitting due to reasons she doesn't like to discuss. She later went back to school for forensics and eventually applied to the FBI, working her way up to the BAU.
