Lauren's P.O.V
I held Elena's hand as she went down the stairs slowly, putting all her concentration into each step. We finally made it to the bottom where I said "are you alright Lany". She nodded. I looked at her sternly and said "that's not an answer Elena". She said "I'm fine Lolo". I picked her up and took her into the living room, deciding to leave it at that even though I wasn't satisfied with her answer.

I sat her on my lap. My parents were talking to the girls about recording. I whispered to Elena "who do you wanna sit with". She whispered back "you". "No honey I need to do some stuff why don't you sit with one of the girls". She sighed and nodded. I set her on Dinah's lap because she was looking bored out of her mind. She wrapped her arms around Elena's small frame. Elena tensed. I wonder what that's about?

Dinah took her hands off her waist when she felt the tension run through the girl. It's a good thing that she has been with so many kids. My dad said 'why don't you girls go out for a little while". The girls nodded and we went upstairs. Dinah held Elena's hand the whole way up. Elena had just as much trouble going up the stairs as she did going down them.

We went to my room and sat down where ever there was space. I said "where do you want to go". They shrugged. Elena sat in Dinah's lap, the tall girl towering over the tiny one. I said "any ideas Lany" she shrugged but I didn't let it slide "words Lany". She said "no Lolo". I said "why don't we go walk around until we find something interesting". "Ally said "sounds good".

The girls found there bags and started looking for there things. I took Elena to her dresser. I said "what do you want to wear boo". She opened a drawer and pulled out blue jean overall shorts. I found a purple tee shirt for underneath and gave it to her. She went to the bathroom. I said as she was leaving "shout if you need help". I got out my phone and wallet from my bag and put them into my pockets.

I went to check on Elena. The girls were ready so they came with me. I knocked on the bathroom door. A little voice answered "Lo". I said "yep it's me Lany. Do you need help". She said "ya Lo". I opened the door not bothering to close it because the girls came in after me. They didn't need to come but I think they felt a little bit awkward.

Elena was pouting while she struggled with her shirt. Her overalls were done up on one half but her shirt was over the strap. I pulled of her shirt and undid the overall strap. I said "arms up" and she stuck them in the air. I slipped her shirt on and pulled up the overalls. I put the metal loop over the button and did the same to the other side. I slipped on socks onto her feet. She smiled at me and said "thanks Lola" using my old nickname. I said "oh so I'm Lola now Lana" using her old nickname.

I turned to the girls who looked like they could melt. I said "you guys ready". Normani said "think so, Lola" saying Lola sarcastically just to get I rise out of me. I said "you're just jealous". She didn't respond.

We went downstairs and checked with Taylor and Chris if they wanted to come, neither of them did. I didn't really care but Elena didn't have a choice because Taylor and Chris aren't shy towards the girls anymore. I shouted "bye guys we'll be back later". My mom shouted "okay is Elena with you". I shouted "yes". She responded "okay, be safe". I shouted back "Alright". We walked outside with Elena's hand clasped in mine.

We walked down the street until we found a nice park. I said "Lany, why don't you go play over there". She shook her head. I asked her squatting down to her level "why not Lana". She said "come with me Lo". I nodded and stood up. Dinah seemed to notice her resistance so she helped me out and said "come on Elena I'll go with you". I pushed Elena foreword gently prompting her to go.

She ran up to Dinah and I followed behind them. Ally called me back "they'll be fine Lo. Dinah has spent enough time around kids to tell if she needs you, Elena will be fine". I walked back over to them tentatively. They were sitting on a few of the rocks that bordered the playground. I sat on one and watched Dinah running after the small girl in overalls.

We were talking for about fifteen minutes when an out of breath Elena ran over. She ran up to me and climbed onto rock I was on. She hid behind my back when Dinah walked over. Dinah said in a fake questioning tone "where could she be" "Lauren do you know where Elena is". I felt a tap on my back and when I looked back Elena had her finger to her lips. I turned to Dinah and said "I don't know Dinah where could she be". Dinah snuck behind my back and scooped up Elena. She burst into a fit of giggles. Dinah said "want a piggy back ride". Elena nodded and Dinah put her on her back. I said "we should head home". The girls agreed and we started home.
