Case 2. Killer VS Killer: Chapter 02. Terrorists

Bai Yutang frowned slightly. He suddenly pounced onto Zhan Zhao as both of them rolled on the ground. Then, they heard two gunshots. Two holes from the bullets appeared where Bai Yutang had been standing and where Zhao Zhao had been squatting.

There was nowhere they could hide. Bai Yutang noticed that the gunshots were fired from two different places. He didn't have the time to think about it, as he went into the pit with Zhan Zhao. Bai Yutang drew his gun and shot towards the demolished roof nearby. Then, he saw a flash of light on the roof of the building.

"Xiao Bai?" Zhan Zhao picked up a skull on the ground and placed the black bag above it.

Bai Yutang instantly understood what he meant and raised his gun to prepare.

Zhan Zhao slowly lifted the black bag using the skull. As soon as he revealed a little bit of the bag, he heard a gunshot. A small hole appeared on the bag. At the same time, Bai Yutang stood up and fired...

The action was done in one fell swoop and lasted no more than two seconds. This was also the time required for the shooter to finish the first shot and prepare, aim and pull the trigger for the second shot. When the first gunshot sounded, a man fell from the abolished roof immediately after.

Bai Yutang pulled Zhan Zhao up, and the two of them climbed out of the pit.

"Is it a trap set on purpose?" Zhan Zhao asked.

"It's just a welcome gift." Bai Yutang looked pale and said, "If this pit was 10 centimeters higher, we would have died." With that, he raised his hand and shot towards a tall building next to them.

After he fired the shot, he put the gun back into the holster. Bai Yutang then took Zhan Zhao back to the car and called SCI's people to come and dig another pit.

At the top of the tall building, a man was standing on the roof watching Bai Yutang drive away slowly. The man's binoculars had been broken. He gently exhaled, then looked at the broken binoculars and the bullet left inside. He smiled and said to himself, "Is this payback for I just did? Bai Yutang...He indeed lives up to his reputation."

The man threw the binoculars away then turned around and walked towards the stairs. Then, his mobile phone rang. He answered the call, "Hello? It's me...This place isn't suitable. Let's find somewhere else."

The person on the other end of the phone seemed to have said something, as it made the man laugh and say, "No, the police here are too good. We can't compete fairly."

It was evening when people from SCI brought the bones from the pit and two bodies from the roof of the building back to the police station.

"Captain." Ma Han hurried back. "Do you know who the two people you shot were?"

"Who?" Bai Yutang was curious. "Were they famous?"

"They are the listed killers of TVA." Ma Han laughed. "They are big shots. You fired twice, hitting one bullet each. You're amazing captain!"

"TVA?" Bai Chi leaned over curiously. "Is that the famous killer organization?"

"There are dozens of wanted professional killers in that organization." Zhan Zhao said, as he looked at the information. "These two are already in their forties."

"They are pawns." Bai Yutang said lightly, "Probably to test the waters."

"Test the waters?" Luo Tian didn't quite understand.

"Testing the waters is the language of those killer organizations." Zhan Zhao said, "Generally speaking, if an organization like this has any big plans, they will first test out the strength of the police in that area. If the water is deep, they will change places. If the water is shallow, it will be easy for them to do things."
