After a few moments, they have arrived at the hangar.

When he entered the large room, he could see his IS in the middle of the room. Besides the IS he sees a familiar purple haired woman with robotic bunny ears. She then notices Akiri walking up to her.
Tabane: A-kun! My, have you grown!
Akiri: Hey Dr. Tabane. It's been a while, You wanted to see me?
Tabane: Yup! It's been a while, and I wanted to personally deliver Vanguard to you. It was a challenge, haven't worked on a generation one in a while. But everything should be in tiptop shape!
Akiri: Wait, you mean, everything is-
Tabane: Everything's all fixed up and improved by yours truly!
Akiri: Really?
Tabane: Yup! New thrusters, upgraded shields, I've even improved the compact nuclear reactor made by your father's company. The only thing that is missing the EMP module
Akiri: And why is that?
Tabane: As you have experienced during your little visit to Alaska, good quality EMP modules are hard to find these days. But don't worry, I am already working on it! It should be ready in about a week
Akiri: They didn't tell me they would be sending you of all people to fix it
Tabane: That's because they didn't. I worked on it all by myself. I even gave you a new IS core! Better targeting systems, improved HUD-
He then looked at her shocked
Akiri: Wait, what!?
Tabane: Don't worry, I transferred your previous programming to the new core! I even tried to improve it, but your current programming are already flawless, there is nothing I can improve on. As expected from his son
Akiri: Thanks, that meant a lot coming from you
Tabane: No problem A-kun! Now go ahead, give it a test run!
Akiri: Okay then
He got into the IS and powered it up. The loud sounds of the nuclear reactor powering up filled the room. In front of him, an unfamiliar HUD appears. it displays information about his IS to every little detail, unlike the previous one which only displays basic information. As soon as he started to move around, he could already feel the difference. The movements are much more smoother, the IS responds to his commands much more quickly. Tabane then talked through the coms.
Tabane: So how is it?
Akiri: It's better than I thought it would be
Tabane: Of course, I worked on it after all! Now why don't you try out the new thrusters?
Akiri walked to the runway. Once he is ready he launches forward and take off before he reaches the end of the runway.
Akiri: It's much faster than before
Tabane: Those new thrusters are modified versions of the ones used on standard generation three IS. You're IS should be more agile now. It can also accelerate up to Mach one
Akiri: Well then let's test that! Miss Orimura, permission to leave the academy airspace
Miss Orimura: Permission granted
Akiri: Lets do this!
Akiri flew upwards a few feet before hovering. He then flew forwards off the island and towards the ocean accelerating quickly.
Akiri: Holy shit, that's fast!
He keeps accelerating, feeling the adrenaline rush from the high speeds he is currently traveling at. He looks at the HUD which shows the speed

Akiri: Ha ha! Woo!
He then keeps going faster and faster and after a few moments...
*BOOM!*
He hits supersonic speeds creating a sonic boom that can be heard all the way at the academy. He then began slowed down and heads back to the academy. Once there, he flew back inside the hangar, landed and got out of his IS.
Akiri: That was amazing, you weren't kidding when you said it has been improved
Tabane: No problem. Just to make you excited, I am also working on making your IS capable to transform into a closed form! But that would take a while longer.
Akiri: Take as much time as you need, I'm pretty happy with how it is now
Tabane: Well, I guess my work here is done! See you around A-kun!
Tabane then walked away and Akiri looked back at his IS
Akiri: (thoughts) I'm one step closer to ending this, dad. I'll finish what you and mom started...
