"Jesu-Christina!" He sighed, looking at her. Chris made a face of disgust as she heard "Christina" from Peter's mouth.
"What? Can I not grab my snacks all of a sudden?" She teased, grabbing a bag of hot cheetos off the counter. The room was silent before Chris spoke again.
"So going to continue what?" She asked, slowly opening the bag of cheetos. I couldn't help but blush a little at as a flashback of what happened earlier, Peter getting closer to me, I feel like I could see hearts in his eyes. Call me cheesy, but I swore I saw hearts.
"Chris please goo!" I say, slowly pushing her out of the kitchen. Peter couldn't help but chuckle as Chris was laughing with a mouthful of cheetos.
As I pushed her out, suddenly she spoke. "oh." She said. "OH!" She said again with a cheeto falling out of her mouth, dropping onto the ground.
"You two better not-" She began to point fingers at Peter and I back and forth while swallowing her mouthful of chips.
"Oh no it's not-" Peter raised his arms up to surrender, a light pink blush on his face. I couldn't help but giggle at his blush and looked back at Chris.
"Uh huh. Better not see any babies running around tomorrow!" She said, back faced us now as she cackled loudly.
"I-" Peter said and rubbed his face with his hands, chuckling.
"She killed the mood, huh?" I say and walk towards him. Peter looked at me and raised his eyebrows.
"Indeed she did." He paused with a smile, leaning into whisper. "Just so you know I wasn't planning to do it like here-right now-"
"Peter!" I say and hit his shoulder, laughing.
"Whaaaa I'm just putting it on the record!"
"Anyways," I pat my apron. "We have to start making dinner, I'm serious!" I say while I wash my hands.
I looked at Peter, who had his eyebrow raised at me. "Who said I wasn't going to help?"
Mocking Peter, I raised my brow at him. "Who said you were going to help?" I teased.
Peter's brow went to its normal spot again, and pouted. "Now I'm not gonna help." He said as he turned around, making his way to the staircase.
"Peteerr!!" I whine, opening a bag of potatoes.
He stopped mid-step and looked at me. "Gotta piss." He paused. See you in a bit muffin!" He said with a grin before running up the stairs.
"Sheesh." John said chuckling, leaning against the kitchen entrance. "Someone collect their dude."
"Is that all you have in your vocab?" I tease, starting to boil the water.
"Maybe." He winked. I looked at him and shook my head.
"Hey is everything with you and Gen like," John leaned in and paused. "Cool?"
It was weird being asked that question. Especially from John. Was I too obvious? Was she too obvious?
"Not really." I answered honestly, and started to put potatoes in the boiling water. Before John could respond, I spoke again.
"I've tried, really. I mean we discussed the whole bracelet thing, but I can feel the tension every time I'm around her." I sighed, cutting up bell peppers.
It really is frustrating, it's like trying to tie a rope to a kayak against a pole, but no matter how hard you try, it always manages to slip away.
"Well a person can only do so much right?" John asked.
"Yeah." Was all I could say. It was hard to say, because deep down I knew something could be done. Always.
