Alice looks up at the sky realising that she is in danger , she must find somewhere to sleep or she would most likely die , from highway bandits , and just when she thinks it's over she sees a sign which was all rusty and covered with moss she could just about read it and what it said gave her a great relief , it said 5 miles to the 'sunken ship inn' , as Alice was almost there she saw a very small diner and since she was so hungry or in fact starving she decided to turn into it and have something to eat , she stepped out her clapped out ford and into the diner and sat down in a booth , she was the only one in the diner , she waited a few minutes getting a bit nervous she decided she would get up and leave and as she went towards the door and looked up there was this creepy looking woman who name tag said Marceline , she was a small fat woman with
one eye open and the other half shut , her hair was dyed really badly the colour pink , she says in a creepy voice " hello my dear are you alright " Alice replys with " I'm alright you just startled me " Marceline walked over to the counter and started to clean the side tops with a dirty rag , Marceline then asks Alice if she would like some coffee and biscuits Alice replied with " oh yes please " Marceline then says " it's getting late you know , shouldn't you be finding a place to stay the night " Alice looks at her watch and looks back up to fine Marceline in front of her again with her coffee and a small steak pie .
Alice speed walks to her car and before she gets in she waves good bye to Marceline and then gets in her car , as she is about to drive off she noticed a piece of paper crumpled up on the seat next to her , she picks it up unfolds it and what it says give her shivers down her spine , it said in big bold letters ' DONT STAY AT THE SUNKEN SHIP YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ' , Alice looked at her watch again and thought to herself what she could do because if she stays in her car she'll get caught by bandits and mugged or she could go in this mysterious hotel were she had been warned , so she had no choice but to stay in this hotel.
