I wasn't meant to be content
I wasn't designed to be smart
I wasn't made to be a good speaker
I wasn't orchestrated to be a good daughter
I wasn't meant to be happy

In my life
I will always yearn for
A bigger house
A bigger lavatory
A bigger piece of pie

In my life
I will always break my mother's things
I will always say the most awkward words
I will always be naive and ignorant
I will always ask questions

But that's the beauty of it
Because

I tried to learn things
And increase knowledge
I tried to speak to crowds
I tried to do chores at home
And say 'Good morning dad'
'Good morning mom'
And though lacking things I want to have
Makes me sad
I try to be happy and tell myself,
'I'm enough, we're enough'

I learned that the house was big enough
For a five-foot-two
And that I can wash my face
Even with no lavatory at all
And I can always get
Another pie

I've come to realize
That though I broke my mother's dollhouse,
I've completed her home
Some things I learned and found answers
Some things I can never know
And that makes me happy
That I can be humbled
And give God the job to know

And that's how
I've come to understand
The truth of it all.
