She's evil. She is going to be the death of me. I need to stop this madness. If I don't stop this, who knows what will happen to the world I know. But how do I stop this? I've tried so hard but she is impenetrable. Every time I even try she just repels me. How can that be? She is the only one that I can't defeat. Maybe that's why I'm so fixated on her... her long brown hair, her glistening smile, her hazel green eyes that I always fall into a trance just looking into, and how can I forget her intelligence? Alaska Reynolds, it is incomprehensible but your brain exceeds your beauty. You're so adorable and innocent but at the same time you can be fierce and not a pushover. You're so sweet yet you can be so cruel. You are so quiet and shy yet you can be outgoing and funny. You're the embodiment of perfection and today is the day that you will give into me Alaska!
Oh hey, I'm sorry I got distracted. Let me introduce myself, my name is Cadmus Andino. I am a 16 year old and I am a junior at Old Dominion High School in Long Island, NY. I'm a pretty normal teenager. I wish I could tell you more about myself and my past but there isn't much to tell. I mean if you asked my classmates it'd be different they like to make a big deal out of me. They'd say Cadmus is perfect, he has a 4.0 gpa, he broke the school record in the long jump, mile, and 100m sprint, he is all-state in football and track, he is so charismatic, and he's so sexy with his blonde hair blue eyes and his athletic body (those are the girl's words not mine). But frankly I like to say I'm just a normal teenager. There's the school bell I got to go.
"Class dismissed but don't forget we have a quiz tomorrow on Act 2 of Romeo and Juliet." Said Mr. Raucci even though I mostly ignored the words that just came out.
It was time for my daily ask out Alaska and get denied conversation. So as usual after our class together in AP Literature I went up to her when she's talking to her best friend Claire, who if you ask me is a real piece of work. I overheard as I was walking up, Claire say. "Oh Alaska here he comes!"
"Hey Alaska." I said.
"Hey Cadmus, what is it today?" She said reluctantly.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go Jimmy's Apizza after school with me, you know like a date?" I asked.
"Cadmus, how many times do I have to tell you I'm not interested. It's nothing personal, you're a great guy but I'm just too busy with school and gymnastics right now." Alaska replied.
"Okay, got it so not today. I'll try again tomorrow." I said
"That doesn't mean try harder. It's not going to happen Cadmus." She said as she rolled her eyes and walked out of the classroom.
I walked out into the hallway and just like our daily routine after I got rejected there Mike was waiting for me with a smirk on his face. Mike is my best friend. We grew up together ever since elementary school. He lives 2 houses down from me and we basically do everything together. He has short black hair and he's average height and slightly chunky. He's always trying to be the coolest guy in school which he says is me. He's a good guy and funny but his only flaw is he's always judging people and he cares too much about what people think of him.
Mike started laughing at me for running into the wall again. Metaphorically speaking, I'm referring to asking out Alaska. The laughing didn't bother me because unlike Mike I don't care what people think of me. I just do what I want for myself and if that makes me look like an idiot then so be it.
I told him as we were walking to our lockers. " Go ahead laugh it up but she can't resist for much longer. One of these days she will say yes and Alaska and I will be a glorious couple."
"No offense but she's been resisting you since middle school. So whatever you're doing ain't working. Plus Cadmus I don't get you. You're the most popular guy in the school, everyone knows you and likes you. You can be with any other girl in the school but you choose to go for the one girl that isn't into you. I mean look at those girls over there.'
