Author's Notes | I have some works towards a blind or semi-blind S/O already posted -like the Ragnarssons in: Oops III - or the recent "Even in Darkness" (Ivar x Reader) posted for my 2000 followers celebration on Tumblr - and the work "Feel You" (Sigurd x Reader), also on Tumblr, treating about a deaf reader if you want to enjoy these subjects! Once I already have a semi-blind reader at the Ragnarssons In, I decided to go for the deaf girl's situation, ok? Thank you for the sweet request and for waiting this long (#sorry!).

Björn would pretty much stimulate her independence, including teaching her a language of signs he learned in one of his expeditions towards the unknown... He would treat her like a normal person, pretty much doubting her deafness would be any kind of obstacle for her to live a usual life.

Ubbe turns out to discover that his expressions are their best way to communicate. Despite the fact that she doesn't listen to what he says, she's pretty aware of his emotions and sometimes she's able to read him even when he's trying his best to hide something from her.

Hvitserk sees no problem in her condition. His brother is a cripple and it didn't prevent him from being whatever he wanted so why would her deafness be something to be worried about? He would focus on developing ways for her to understand him without words - and touches would be his main language, especially when in intimate moments...

Sigurd would soon discover that vibrations are a thing for her to enjoy his music and sounds. And learning how to carve runes in poetry for her would be his major effort. Her deafness is no barrier for him since somehow it creates a way for them to connect in a deep way as if she was the only one able to understand what words couldn't show to anyone else around him.

Ivar would be reticent in the beginning. His fear of passing forward his condition and hers to a child they come to have together would cause him to get some distance from his feelings and sometimes to deny what he feels. However, love is stronger than his fear and the connection between them would soon defeat his concerns once he would want to have closer to him the only person who seems to be able to read his soul.
