Lisa's POV
My gown was constantly caught and tangled branches of the overgrown trees. My heart was racing as I ran faster. I suddenly fell flat on the ground.

"Stand up Lisa,"shouted  dad as he helped me stand.
" We have to get out of this territory before day light, " he insisted as he held me tightly around my waist.

Dad had planned an escape plan. The meeting with the King dai not go well. King David wanted to imprison me as the law stated.

But dad was not ready for it. As part of the reason i wanted to commit suicide was his fault. Mom on the other hand has already started her journey together with my sister Vicky to the Eastern territory.

My body had not yet fully recovered so it was not cooperating with me.
"Dad i can't.. I'm tired.. just go I'll face the law.." i said.
" No we'll make it.. the carriage is waiting for us at the end of the woods."

True to his word, as we approached the end of the wood trails i could see a lamp being held by an anonymous person.

It took me all the effort I could to walk towards the carriage. After what seemed like forever we reached our destination.

"Sir, we are ready to go," said the man.
"Thank you for risking your life to help me and my daughter escape, " said dad.
" I owe you my life this is a favor paid in full, " replied the man as he helped me get inside the carriage.

Then he went on the driver's seat and the horse started to walk slowly at first but the pace increased with every step.

I looked at my dad. " Dad thank you," i whispered.
" No problem sweet heart," he replied pulling me closer to him and then he placed a kiss on my forehead.
" I'll protect you to the end of my life if I need to do it," he said and silence fell . Only the horses groans were heard in the midst of the night.

I took time to look outside the carriage small window. The sky looked peaceful with the moon shinning past the woods. As i paid attention to the trees i could sense something wrong. There were shapes moving. I tried to focus but I discharged the thought.

Out of the blues, the carriage was pushed off the road. The horse cried out of agony as he fell on the hard surface.

I was puzzled and astonished as a strong hand pulled me from the carriage.
"Lisa Mason you are charged with treason against King David's reign. "
Said my captor.
" And the penalty is death for you and your family."

So that's the end of me. I'll die and so will my family die.
