Prologue(Kinda)
Age 7:
"Hey Ellie, where do you want to go " My dads face lit up and looked back at me from the drivers seat.
"Can we go to the park?" I asked excitedly.
"At 10 o' clock at night? Well, usually i would have to say no because of your mother, but since its your birthday. Sure why not?" His laugh bellowed through the car. The streetlights zoomed past as we drove.
Next thing i know glass shatterted, and lights flashed. The car flipped at least three times as i screamed at the top of my lungs. It all came to a stop and i couldnt see anything. My eyes throbbed with pain. I saw a tiny bit of light come into view, but before i could figure out what it was everything went black.
I heard voices.
"Mrs. Harling, there is no possible way she can see again. She's blind." The doctor conversed with who i'm sure was my mother. The words hit me hard. Blind? I"ll never see anything again?
"Mom? Mom, am i blind?" I asked. My words shaky, dreading to hear the answer.
"Yeah, Ellie. You are."
