Punishment x and x Escape

Five Years Ago

"That was complete cowardice," The eldest spits down at the younger. Illumi glared down at his younger sister with his dark eyes raging. It was an usual sight, considering Illumi never showed emotion as it is. "Do you realize what you've done?"

The younger girl sighed as she let her eyes drift shut. She was younger than him by two years and so he was much taller than her with his broad shoulders. "I do. I'm not stupid, Illumi."

Illumi scoffs. "I highly doubt that."

Then again, Illumi was calling himself stupid for even going with her on the assignment. Now, they were both in trouble, her more than him.

They were waiting in the common area of the mansion after being summoned by their butlers as a request from their father, Silva, after he caught wind of their situation.

"I can't do this anymore, Illumi," the girl whispers, her gaze lifting and looking her brother right in the eyes.

It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

For the first time, Illumi saw sadness cloud in his younger sisters blue eyes.

"Millumi-"

"Your father is ready to see you," Kikyo, their mother, says as she steps into the room, her fan in her dainty hand like usual.

Despite her high heels, her footsteps were extremely faint and nearly undetectable.

Millumi sighs and stands, straightening her back and shoulders and keeping her head held high. Illumi watched her with curiosity. The pitiful look she had two seconds ago was gone, replaced with her usual confidence and playfulness.

As she was walking by, their mother grabs her arm harshly and yanks her back to face her. It was obvious Kikyo's fingers were digging into Millumi's arm, yet she showed no sign of pain on her face.

"What were you thinking, Millumi?" Their mother growls, the red light of her visor flaring. "How could you be so stupid? Do you understand how this affects all of us?!"

"What's done is done, Mother," Millumi growls right back. Her eyes narrow into a cat-like glare.

Kikyo clenches her teeth, the red dot on the visor machine across her eyes glows brighter. She releases Millumi's arm and whips her hand straight across Millumi's face with a loud smack.

Millumi's head stays to the side with her bangs in her face and says nothing as Kikyo huffs and turns, stomping away without another word.

Kalluto and Alluka stand at the door, both of them holding one of Killua's hands with wide eyes. Kalluto lets go of his hand and rushes to his mothers side with a single glance back towards Millumi and they leave.

There was a faint trace of worry in his eyes, but he continues to follow his mother.

"Are you alright, Millu?" Killua asks, rushing forward and pulling Alluka with him. Killua's big blue eyes were wide and filled to the brim with concern.

In all his life, he had never seen their mother hit Millumi.

Millumi looks down at them, a smile on her face despite the red handprint on the pale skin of her left cheek. She kneels down to their eye levels.
