There has been news going around about a dangerous challenge resurfacing the internet. If you haven't heard, it's called the Blue Whale Challenge.

Tw: suicide & self-harm ((no graphic pictures))

The challenge starts off with a person by the name of

blue whale man

or any name related or similar to the name above, private messaging you something by the lines of: "do you want to play a game?"

If you say "yes", it'll turn to a sick game of truth or dare, and the end goal is to get you to commit suicide. If you find yourself in this situation and you don't do as you're told, they will likely leak your information or some rumours say that they will go to your address and murder your family.

This may not be true, but we're better off safe than sorry.

How to avoid the blue whale challenge

1. Do not make any contact with these users. Simply ignore and block.

2. Block them. This goes for all social media except TikTok. In TikTok, simply ignore them.

3. Report. Report this user and explain the blue whale challenge in the reasoning behind the report.

4. Warn people. Post something or just tell a friend in your messages. Spread awareness, not panic.

5. If possible, delete your social media or put your accounts on pr🍖ivate.

Counterparts to the blue whale challenge that encourages self-esteem boosting and self-love are the pink whale challenge and the red whale challenge. If you are ever feeling down, try those challenges out.

Remember. All of you are loved and if any of you are feeling down, we are always happy to talk.

You are all always loved. If you ever feel otherwise, know that in this humongous universe, there are billions upon billions of people out there. Within those billions, there will be some who despise you, but there is a larger amount that loves and care for you. If you feel as though no one loves and cares for you, maybe it's time to search for the people who care.

Stay strong and keep searching!
