"Do you ever mean the things you say? Standing there in your tight cheer uniform that hugged all of your curves so perfectly while boys gawked at you. You broke my heart and all you could say was 'sorry' let me just tell you one thing, you're a horrible liar and I didn't even have to know you for that long to be able to tell. Ella Emblen, welcome to your tape"

Clays eyes widened this was the very tape other than his own that he had been dreading but also needing to hear. Hannah Baker and Ella Emblen shared a love hate relationship and even though clay didn't want to admit it, Hannah was the hate side of the relationship. But of course. There was always two sides to a story

"So tell me ella, was your life just as perfect as people thought it was? Cause from what I saw, it wasn't. We had a good relationship for most parts but there were some problems between us. Some would say we were like fire and ice"

"Hey Hannah what's up" Ella asks with a smile on her face and Hannah returned that smile

Ella sat down on the chair in front of Hannah and places down her iced chocolate while looking over at Hannah's hot chocolate

"We're like fire and ice huh" Ella asks with a grin on her face and took a mouthful of her drink and Hannah laughed with her

"I love your new hair cut by the way it looks amazing" Ella smiles as she points to ellas cut hair

"Thanks Ellie, so hows everything going in the amazing life of Ella Emblen?" Hannah asks with a big grin and Ella sits back in her chair with a giant grin on her face

"It's been pretty great actually. Jeff and I have been practising baseball every afternoon after school. He's really great at it, I'd say the best on the team" Ella grins

"Carefull wouldn't want Montgomery or Zach hearing that" Hannah laughs

"Oh well it's true" Ella says and shrugs her shoulders "all my boys are great at the game it's just jeff is a little better but zachs definitely the best basketball player"

"So what's going on with you and Zach" Hannah asks with a smirk and Ella looks over at the girl confused

"What do you mean" Ella laughs in confusion

"I see the way you look at each other" Hannah laughs

"He's one of my best friends. That's all" Ella smiles

"Are you serious Ella? Zach looks at you like your his entire world" Hannah laughs and Ella shakes her head

"He sees me as a sister and I'm pretty sure he likes you. And I'm in love with Monty" Ella smiles

"Right. Montgomery De La Cruz" Hannah laughs

"Come on Han. He's really great when you get to know him" Ella says but Hannah disagreed

"When we first met at Kats party there was something about you that drew my attention and I didn't know exactly what. Was it your cool, funny and kind personality. Was it the way that your laugh made me feel so calm, I know what some of you guys are thinking and no, I did not have a crush on Ella we've talked about this before back on a previous tape. Ella Emblen, I admired you you were so kind to me but then again, I'm every angel, there is a demon just waiting to reveal itself"

"Ella Ella over here" Kat gestured to one of her best friends and Hannah looked over and saw a girl their age with brown hair and blue eyes making their way over to them. Hannah looked at the girl in awe, she was beautiful but from Hannah's experiences she knew the girls that were that beautiful on the outside were usually nowhere near beautiful on the inside.

"What's up Kat hey clay. oh you must be the new girl Hannah right? I'm ella, it's really great to meet you" Ella smiles and put her hand out and Hannah shook it happily and Ella and clay exchanged smiles

"Hey clay have you seen Jeff yet?" Ella asks the boy but Kat starts talking before clay could even answer

"Ella over here is one of the nicest girls you'll meet at liberty" Kat smiles and places her hand around ellas shoulder "come on let's get outside"

Hannah notices the girl looking around for someone and she assumed it was the boy she was talking about before, Jeff

"You can find him later come on" Kat laughs and Ella sighs but nods her head anyways

The three girls and clay walked outside and stood on the deck of Hannah's new house

"This house is amazing" Ella smiles Widely and Hannah thanks her

The trio notice Zach and Justin rolling around on the grass in the sprinklers

"Meet the boys. Justin Foley is mine and I'd say you could have Zach Dempsey but sadly that boy only has eyes for little miss Ella over here" Kat laughs and Ella scoffs

"I thought that Jeff boy was your boyfriend" Hannah asks

"Oh god no. Jeff's my best friend. He's everything to me, basically my soulmate" Ella laughs "but Zach isn't my boyfriend either"

"She's dating a boy named Montgomery De La Cruz" Kat laughs

"Long name" Hannah laughs

"He's really sweet Hannah I'll have to introduce you to him" Ella smiles and Hannah nods her head softly and could tell ella had a lot of boys wrapped around her finger even if she didn't know it

"You should definitely try it with Zach. He's really sweet" Ella smiles "he's my best friend I could get you guys together"

"Okay yeah he's kinda dumb but he's the sweet kind of dumb which is the beat kind" Kat laughs

"He's not dumb Kat" Ella laughs

Kat walks toward the boys and begins clapping her hands loudly and Ella follows her with a giant smile  "yes liberty highs star athletes ladies and gentlemen"

The boys stop play fighting and stand up and Justin smiles at Kat while Zach smiles at Ella and Hannah noticed the way Zach was looking at the girl and she could see what Kat meant about him having a thing for the girl. The look in his eyes was love.

"So impressive. Sorry boys. Can't have you in Hannah's house soaking wet" Kat says and gives them a fake pout

"Hey Ella" Zach smiles widely and she waved at him

"Seriously" Justin asks in annoyance

"Come on Jay bird look at you your clothes as drenched" Ella laughs and he grins over at her and raises his eyebrows with a laugh and she rolls her eyes and laughs back

"That's what she said" Justin and Ella laugh loudly and she runs down the steps and fist pumps him and then Justin and Zach both attack her with hugs

"Oh come on seriously guys now I'm all wet" Ella groans and wacks both of their chests

"Oh my god look at yourselves" Kat says and Justin pulls of his shirt

"Better" Justin asks with a cheeky grin and his arm wrapped around Ellas shoulder and Ella rolled her eyes at the boy

Hannah laughs from a distance and Kat speaks up "improvement for sure but it's still a no go" Kat replies and the three people on the lawn sigh

"Hey clay I'll be back soon if you see Jeff just tell him I had to go home and get changed" Ella called out to clay who nodded his head "it was great meeting you Hannah"

Hannah smiles at Ella as she watched Zach throw her over his shoulder. The girl seemed real nice and she could sense that they were going to be good friends
