Collision

Everyone falls in love sometimes,

but I just happen to fall for you.

I saw myself slipping,

traction not as gripping.

I was caught unaware

because of the pull from a strong, poised body,

And I consistently received your never dull stare.

I should've called it lust

even though our souls and minds

always seemed to be intertwined,

I thought I could handle the collision I saw coming.

You had all the warning sings -

Dangerous high momentum,

No safety controls,

Things to cause my brakes to make those ever so high squeals,

Things to cause my brake fluid to leak all over your wheels.

When I finally let myself fall,

it was all-consuming and violent.

Our collision taking place too strong, too soon.

But aren't those what collisions do?

They take and cause a quake,

leaving a wreck in the mess they make.

To everyone else, I might be the one holding all the impact of the crash.

But mine will fade quickly unlike yours, that will forever last.
