One hot summer day in Amazonas, Venezuela you can see a dozen kids running and playing around on a local playground. Mothers, fathers, daughters, sons; roaming free unaware of anything that could happen, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, or something as simple as rain. All of these you prepare for, but this is different, there is nothing that can prepare these families for what was to come. This was a man-made disaster if such a thing exists, does it? Bombings, shootings, gas leaks, oil spills, etc. You know there is a storm coming, but they don't.... At least not all of them. A couple of children with wild imaginations have the lives of 58 people in their hands. And this one 6-year-old girl with a lisp and a stutter might just save them all if, her parents want to listen properly.p
"Mom-mom-mommy? Da-da-daddy?" asked a little girl to her parents. "Yes, Tiffany? I thought we agreed that we would take you to the park if you leave mommy and daddy alone to finish our work sweetie." Her mother said not looking up from the stack of scientific papers in her hands. "I'm ready-dy-dy, ready to leave n-n-now, we can g-g-go b-b-back h-h-home. I wo-wo-won't bother you anymore." Tiffany said anxiously, her stutter worse than usual. "Slow down sweetheart, you know your father and I can't understand you when you speak fast." The mother looks up at her daughter then back down to the papers. "I wanna go home now, I won't bother you anymore" She repeated clearer and slower than before. Her father looked up from his papers and asked. "But we just got here sweety, you must not wanna leave this fast. Go play for a little bit more, maybe 5 or 10 minutes." Tiffany almost starts crying, her father notices this and puts his papers to the side. He picks up his daughter and places Tiffany on his lap.
"Pl-pl-please daddy? I w-w-wanna leave now, I c-c-can go play with the toys I have at h-h-home." Her eyes started to water, which caught her mother's eye, so she put her papers down and turned her complete attention to Tiffany. "What's wrong baby? What happened?" Her mother asked with a concerned look on her face. Tiffany shakes her head no after she begins crying. "A-A-A girl said that p-p-people get hurt at this p-p-park," She said through sobs and tears. "She was probably just trying to scare you, sweety. Of course, people get hurt here, Honey. That's why you have to be safe when running around and playing with other kids" Her father said wiping the tears off Tiffany's face. "R-r-really? But this sounded different from what you and mommy told me. C-c-can we just leave? P-p-please, Daddy." She pleaded clinging to her father's neck.
Her parents looked at each other, "Matthew, I have a meeting with the CEO and some of the directors about a new chemical found in the old mine shaft. That's at 5, it's 4 honey. So I guess we could leave now if her heart is truly set on it." Her mother said kissing Tiffany's tears away and smiling to reassure her daughter. "Ok Melissa, Tiffany, let's go." Matthew kisses his wife's cheek, then his daughter's cheek. Matthew gets up carrying Tiffany on his side and grabbing Melissa's hand. He notices the music to an ice cream truck playing in the parking lot, "Here, take this little sweetheart to go get an ice cream cone. I'll get our stuff and start the car" He passed Tiffany off to Melissa and handed her his wallet as well. Melissa put her daughter on her hip and started to walk away. "Baby, you can't always take everything to heart, people can get hurt everywhere so don't let that scare you, but if you do get scared, mommy and daddy will always be here to protect you." Melissa says to her daughter before lightly tapping her on the nose.
After hearing her daughter babble about anything and everything, she passes Tiffany her cellphone, before hearing a car door slam and a father and daughter arguing which turns her attention away from her daughter. It's directly in front of them about 8 meters away, very faint so the words are incoherent but not abnormal for parents and children to fight so she turns around and goes back to listening to Tiffany babble about a video. Until Tiffany drops her phone, she bends down to pick it up and notices that Tiffany's shoe is untied. "Stay still for a moment bab-"
It went off, BANG. A gun went off, and time stopped. The bullet pierced her skin, going through bone, tissue, muscles, organs, and everything that stood in its path. Screams, voices, and tears mixed together, fading into one another. Then it happened again, restarting the cycle, BANG. This cycle went on for 10 seconds until the sounds started to become slightly coherent, but only 4 voices made it through the slur of noises.
"MOMMY" "TIFFANY" "MELISSA" "ANGEEEEELLLLLL"
