You could still remember it like it was yesterday— the flourish of Pomp and Circumstance blaring on the poor-quality speakers of the school gymnasium as you hastily grabbed your diploma and scuttled off the "stage" as quickly as you could. The medium-loud clapping of the audience and your parents as well as the loud 'whoop's of your friends (okay, the one shouting was mainly Mabel, but the rest were definitely still clapping). You proudly watched your friends one by one go up and receive their diplomas as well. They all looked the same as you did— wanting to get the heck out of this cheesy graduation ceremony as fast as they possibly could.

You mentally sighed at yourself as you donned the stage once again. Your chorus teacher had practically forced you to perform at graduation right before everyone left. You couldn't say no— she just kept insisting and insisting and insisting! You had a good voice and could perform on piano just fine, but it felt a little odd doing it in front of all these kids who probably didn't even know who you were or hated your guts for the sole reason that you were an easy target to make fun of. Thankfully she did let you pick a decently short song and while albeit a stereotypical one for a graduation, it did compliment your voice well. You sat down at the piano bench, took a deep breath, and began to play softly.

"We'll meet again.

Don't know where,

Don't know when.

But I know we'll meet again some sunny day.

Keep smiling through

Just like you always do

'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.

So will you please say hello

To the folks that I know,

Tell them I won't be long.

They'll be happy to know

That as you saw me go

I was singing this song.

We'll meet again.

Don't know where,

Don't know when.

But I know we'll meet again some sunny day."

There was more halfhearted clapping from the audience before the principal of your school finally ended the graduation ceremony. You ran out the door of the gymnasium as quickly as you could, holding your hat and diploma, with your family in tow. Just as you were about to hop in the back seat of your parents' car, you felt a tap on your shoulder. Upon turning around you could see that it was your two best friends— Dipper and Mabel Pines.

"Great job, (Y/N)!" Mabel cheered. "You sounded great up there. Your voice is amazing." She said with child-like wonder.

You felt an embarrassed blush grace your face. "Ah, nah. I'm nothing special. Besides, Mrs. Orallo practically forced me to sing up there. It wasn't really my choice."

"That doesn't matter," replied Dipper. "You sounded great just the same. Don't discredit yourself. But anyways, we have something to ask you." He changed the subject.

"What is it?" You tilted your head like a curious puppy.

"Would you be interested in going on vacation with us this summer!?" Mabel squealed excitedly.

"We were thinking of inviting you because it'll be one last hurrah before we all go our separate ways for college." Dipper suggested.

"Heck yeah! I have to ask my parents first, though. Where are we going?"

"To a place very near and dear to us," Dipper answered.

"Gravity Falls, Oregon."
