Chapter 29🌹

"Can you swear to god that you don't like him the slightest?"
She presses. I bitterly smile but can't utter the simplest three letters because of the heavy thing on my chest. What the hell is wring with me?

Looking at my state, she continues,
"You shouldn't play around with him, Jo."
Her voice is laced with worries and anger. This is so unlike her.
"What do you mean?"
She inhales a deep breath before starting talking.
"His friends came to our workplace yesterday and I was asked if you're serious about him or not. They looked really concerned about him."
"They are just overreacting, you know? It's impossible that devil is into me. That is a sick joke. Hahaha."
Despite my laugh, she's still the same as a few moments ago.

"It's not funny, Jo. I think he is actually into you."
Her words are unexpected and they unnecessarily affect me so much.
"They told me a little about him. I heard he is such a lonely man, Jo. He grew up without the love from his parents. They said that somewhere in his heart, he terribly longs to be loved."

After she finished her speech, we didn't exchange a single word till our work time was over. And we never touched the topic on our way home. I was glad she did so because just couldn't think straight after listening to his childhood story from her.

Joey's last sentence has dominated my brain like a curse. It also deprived my sleep last night. Yeah, it is a curse.

I didn't even notice I arrived at my school until I bumped into one of my classmates.
"Good morning, Ted!"
I greet him since he usually does me these days. On the contrary he doesn't this morning and eyes me as if I'm something disgusting instead.
Something is wrong, My instinct tells me right away.

"Look who we found, ladies."
Dove's evil voice echoes in the hall.
"This deceiving slut does have a courage to come to school after what she did to Mr. Tiffin. Don't you agree?"
They all cynically laugh.
"What are you talking about?"
Having no idea, I ask. Then, Sarah grabs my hair and starts walking to somewhere.
"What the hell?! Get off of me!!!"
My voice seems inaudible to them and China lastly spits,
"Come and see for yourself, bitch."

I was finally released when we arrived at the cafeteria. There were already bunch of students crowded as if ants.
"Open it, Jojo."
Dove creepily whispers as slapping my back hard. In front of me is a small table, on which is a cloth covering something underneath it.

As soon as I remove the cloth, I gasp. On the small table are the countless numbers of me spreading on a bed. Thankfully my body torso is hidden by the cover, but you can easily guess I was naked. In some of them are man's arms. These pictures bloody convince anyone who sees them that I'm a whore. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck!!!!

The first thing that comes into my mind is that I need to do everything I can to keep this from Hero at any cost. I know it doesn't make sense to say this when I don't admit I have feelings for him, yet I can't let that happen.
Maybe, just maybe, I kind of like him a little...?

"What's going on here?"
A loud, accented voice says from behind me.
"Langford? Are you ok?"
Hero gently asks me who's freezing in front of a small table with a pale face. I'm almost fainting out here.

"I think you'll know who she really is if you open the cloth, Mr. Tiffin."
The demon named Sarah seductively suggests.

No!
I want to scream out loud but my throat is completely shut down. My body is so stiff to move a millimeter.
Glaring at her, he wearily reaches his hand and begins peeling the only thing that shrouds my biggest secret off.

His face when he saw them will haunts me forever.
