shoji hadn't stopped his search for his best friend 

 one month ago tokoyami was kidnapped by the villain league during the internships with hawks

he had been gathering all the information he could need to find his raven headed friend 

but he still had no luck in finding him 

but when you search for something it's always in the last place you look 

as he returned to U.A after his search 

he saw a figure walk around the side of the building, even though it was far he could tell that he was tall and buff, looking like a-

"hey!" he shouted 

this alerted the figure before it ran off 

but as shoji gave chase another dark figure was gaining on him 

and before he knew what was going on he was hoisted into the air 

shoji kicked and screamed for release 

but the nomu who abducted him didn't seem to care as they carried him away 

on top of a hill and into a cave where he was finally released 

"eat," it said, but he wasn't offering shoji food 

he was food 

to the figure he had been chasing before

he was surrounded by 2 nomu's 

shoji knew the nomu that kidnap him wanted to kill him for food, he could see the bloodlust in his eyes

"begon pezzo" the second nomu commanded, shooing the other nomu of, huffing as he flew out 

the merciful nomu was something different then the other nomu's shoji had seen 

it had a wings quirk, along with a hood over him and several bandages over his face 

the nomu looked at him 

but instead of sharing the same viciousness as his friends, he gestured to a blanket where shoji could sleep 

the multi-armed laid down on the comfortable material, in fear of what would happen if he refused the kind gesture, the nomu even covered him in another making sure he was comfortable 

shoji was confused beyond belief 

but the next morning all his confusion would be removed 

when shoji awoke he found himself in the blanket, forgetting where he was before remembering the events of what had happened the other day 

looking around he saw the merciful nomu sleeping on the other side 

curiosity once again took hold of himself 

(why would a nomu that was not damaged covers it's his face) shoji  thought to himself as he began to walk over to the sleeping nomu and began to lower his hood and take off the bandages 

only to be surprised as he revealed the face of his lost friend tokoyami. 

shoji found himself crying 

how could tokoyami of all people be victimised to such change 

his size was increased musculature and height are equal to those of the black nomu

shoji didn't know what to do without calling his companions 

should he call someone to tell them about what happened to him?

or stay and wait for tokoyami to wake up so shoji could take him back?

but by the sounds of the newly found tokoyami, he knew he was beginning to wake up 

shoji knew he shouldn't bring attention to his change, he didn't want to startle him anymore 

instead of shouting "tokoyami!" or "what happened to you?!" or even "do you remember me?!" 

he merely just stated "good morning" 

the nomu tokoyami was taken by surprise, but tried to remain cool, believing shoji didn't know it was him 

but as he felt his face, feeling no bandages and his face being exposed 

he knew that wasn't the case 

shoji could tell tokoyami knew shoji knew the nomu was tokoyami 

and he immediately began to reassure his friend it was ok 

"shoji....I...I don't want you to see me like this" tokoyami cried as he tried to cover his face 

but his hands were pulled away and placed into the octopus-like boy's hands 

"I don't care what you look like my friend, all I care about is that your safety and how your feeling" shoji admitted with a warm inviting smile as he mentally jumped in the joy that he had his memories still intact

as tokoyami began to calm down he began to explain what had happened 

the villain who abducted him had done horrible experiments on him, changing him into a nomu with new quirks such as choche absorption (usj's nom's quirk ) super regeneration (the high-end quirk) 

but before they could take away his memories, cutting away his head revealing the brain, his original quirk had finally been given a bit of darkness compared to the bright lights he had been exposed to during the torturous time, and they had attacked the villains, giving him a chance to flee and hideaway

he had escaped into the hole/cave where he was found by the nomu's who had escaped just to late, tokoyami had just freed the last one before shoji had shown up, the one that had kidnapped the octopus as he wandered the walls of U.A, trying to remember the good times he had there 

tokoyami was under the impression that due to his new form he couldn't come back to school 

if only he saw how wrong he was 

shoji had slowly convinced the raven head to come back, to show the teachers and students of who he was now 

tokoyami feared that his friends would be afraid of him 

but they weren't 

they were sympathetic 

they were impressed 

and they were supportive 

no matter how much a person changed, true friends would never abandon them in their time in need 

they never found a cure to turn him back 

but tokoyami decided he didn't want to turn back 

he would show the world he could still be a hero 

and now that he had more quirks 

he found himself being able to help in more ways then he would before 

and that was something tokoyami would never take back 

all things happen for a reason
